I shook my head, ignoring them. I didn’t want to see who’d said it; more interested in keeping my eyes on her. Not that it mattered. They all knew my obsession with her. Everyone did except Everly, it seemed.
I’d met her at the bar over a year ago when someone had called in sick, and I’d come to the floor to help out. Then once I’d gotten to know her, I fell hopelessly in love with her confidence, kindness, and optimism. Everly was a breath of fresh air on a hot summer’s day, the first lick of an ice cream cone, and the satisfying chill of stepping into a pool.
There was only one Everly Carlisle, and I wanted her bad.
But much to my dismay, Everly didn’t want a relationship, consigning me to “fuck buddy” while I held out hope of wooing her with my magical dick. Yes, I knew how caveman that sounded, but I didn’t think straight when it came to Everly. I’d do anything to be in her life, as long as I got to be in it.
I might sound ridiculous, bordering on stalkerish, but I didn’t know how to be any other way when it came to my girl. Everly owned me, even if she didn’t know it.
“Hello, handsome. I haven’t seen you here in a while,” she cooed, setting her arms on the bar, making my eyes want to drift to her glorious cleavage.
“That sounds awfully like you missed me, Carlisle.” I smirked, making sure not to push too hard. Everly was like a skittish puppy and needed to believe everything was her idea, or she’d run away, making it difficult to lure her back.
“Hmm. Maybe.” The green sparkled in her eyes this close, causing my breath to catch.
Calm the fuck down, dude. You don’t want to scare her. Not yet.
“You have a break coming up?” she asked, licking her lips.
“I always have time for you, Meu Tudo. What did you have in mind?” I sat the drink I’d been mixing on the bar, then leaned forward to give her all my attention.
“Hmm, well, I could use your help with something later.” Her fingers drifted up my arm as she traced my tattoo, increasing the butterflies as they took flight in my chest.
“I do love to help,” I purred, hoping it didn’t sound too desperate. “You going to perform with Phantom?” I asked, knowing she had a fascination with the masked piano player.
Not that the feeling wasn’t mutual. Phantom watched her from the shadows almost as much as I did. He just hid his identity, never speaking to her. But that didn’t mean they didn’t have a connection. In the few minutes they performed together, whether she chose to duel him, dance, or play along with him, it was like they shared the same heartbeat. I’d be jealous if it weren’t the hottest thing to watch.
“Maybe,” she said, her cheeks flushing as she glanced at the two people performing at the grand pianos.
One figure was in all white, the other one in all black, his hood pulled up over his head and wrapping him in shadows. Everly bit her lip as she watched Phantom play some pop song, his fingers moving over the keys like they were a part of him. She might believe she had a choice in the matter, but I knew nothing outside of a meteor attack would stop her. She needed to perform with him as much as she needed air to breathe.
“Can I get you a drink, Carlisle?” I asked, drawing her attention back to me. I might be willing to share her, but I still craved her attention, taking whatever scrap she’d willingly give.
“Sure. What’s on special?” she asked.
You. Me.
But I kept those words to myself for now.
Giving her a crooked grin, I pulled out some bottles and mixed something I knew she’d like. Her eyes watched me as I flipped bottles, putting on a show just for her, feeding my exhibition kink. Sliding it across the counter, my hand brushed against hers, electricity zinging through me. It was a wonder I could hide my erection behind the bar, my cock coming to life the second it knew she was near.
Her lips wrapped around the straw, the red liquid moving up as she sucked. I held in a groan, worried I’d come in my pants if I didn’t.
Shit. It had been far too long since I’d seen her. It had been out of desperation that I’d come down to the floor tonight, hopeful she’d be here like a siren to my call of distress.
“Mm, that’s delicious.” She licked her lips, her cute tongue peeking out to gather the sweetness that had been left behind. Our eyes connected as we stared at one another, the sound of the club disappearing as I lost myself in her trance.
“It’s a bummer about VIP. I could use some of your magic help right now.”
“I know a place.” Inwardly, I cringed, not wanting to sound too eager. But it was a lost cause when it came to her.
Thankfully, her eyes lit up, and she sucked down the rest of the drink. Taking the dirty glass, I rinsed it and walked around the bar, meeting her on the side. Her hand fell into mine, our fingers interlocking as I wove us through the crowd. We climbed the stairs; the bouncer ignoring us as we passed, moving further down the hall. I took a few more turns before we came to my office.
I leaned her against the wall, my hands cupping her face as I pressed my nose against her throat, breathing in her eucalyptus and honey scent as I dragged it across her skin. My tongue darted out, licking over her pulse point as she moaned into me. Everly practically vibrated at my touch, her body bowing to me. Every inch of her that I could, I touched as I pressed into her, melding our bodies together as one.
She whimpered, her hands grasping my biceps as she hitched one leg to gain friction. Everly rocked into me, brushing my cock with her hot center. Growling, I nipped her ear, grabbed her in my arms, and spun us around behind closed doors. The second the latch sounded, my hands were under her dress, cupping her.
“Caralho! You’re not wearing any panties, Meu Tudo?”
