Even as she flew over the peak of arousal mountain, she felt Kingsley begin to piston in and out faster and harder. Then he shoved his cock deep and then even deeper as he roared with his own release. The heat of his release filled her even as she had to remind herself to breathe.
She drifted on a warm purple cloud without a care in the world. When she was able to track things again, she was surprised to find herself sprawled across the middle of her queen-size bed. Kingsley stepped in from the bathroom.
“There you are,” Kingsley said, his tone sounding relaxed and happy.
Without hesitation or reacting to her gasp of shock, he used the warm wet cloth between her legs to clean her up before returning it to the bathroom. He then crawled onto the bed and pulled the covers up over them both.
“Sleep, sweetling. You’ve more than earned another few hours of sleep,” he murmured. He rolled her onto her side and then pulled her so her back pressed against his front.
Lena was too relaxed to order him to leave or argue that she needed to go to work early as she normally did. Instead, she took a deep breath, smiling at the scent of sex and Kingsley that surrounded her. It was a scent that had her pussy twitching with renewed interest even as she drifted off to sleep again.
Her last thought before falling into the black void was to wonder if she could be falling in love with this mysterious man who fucked her so well. Fucked, because he couldn’t be loving her, could he?
Chapter Nine
When she woke shortly after daybreak, she was alone in her bed. But the pillow beside her head held the dent of Kingsley’s head, and his unique scent that she would always associate with him.
Taking a moment, she stretched and flexed while lying in bed, surprised that the aches and pains of muscles and joints she normally felt upon waking were gone. She felt amazing.
After one last full body stretch, Lena climbed out of bed. Her legs felt weak as cooked noodles as she headed to the bathroom. Kingsley had given her exactly what she needed. Though she wished he had stayed around until she’d woken up, she also knew that if he had, she would be missing another day of work. So she sent him a mental thank you and began her day.
She had an hour before her shift on the computer began, so she would take a leisurely shower and make herself a proper breakfast for once instead of carrying a cup of coffee and some toast to her desk to snack on.
Heading to the shower, she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror and stopped. Normally she avoided the mirror like the flu, but for some reason, today she turned and stepped up in front of her reflection. Then she reached over and turned on the lights because she wanted to make sure what she saw was real.
Even with the lights on, her reflection showed the dark pink scars that had littered her face and body were no more. They were still there, but the thin white lines were much lighter and smaller than the original injuries.
Then Kingsley’s words asking her what she desired more than anything came back to her. The reflection of the woman who looked almost normal blurred as tears filled her eyes.
What had Kingsley done to her?
How had he done it?
Knowing she needed answers, but also that she had to work and earn money to live on, Lena forced herself away from the mirror and into the shower. Once her workday was done she would find Kingsley and demand answers.

Though he had wanted to stay with Lena, Kingsley had a signing ceremony to prepare for. He laid with his woman as long as he could before getting out of bed. After dressing, he leaned over the bed and placed a soft kiss of protection on her forehead before forcing himself away from her and out of the apartment.
Once out of her building, he used his magic to teleport to the alley just outside the café. Stepping inside, he waved at the fairy girl behind the counter before crossing to the conference room to make sure his belongings were safe.
They weren’t there.
“I took them upstairs,” Mystic said as she stopped beside him. “I wasn’t sure you would return before closing time.”
Kingsley turned and looked down at the café owner. “Thanks. There’s much to do before the signing, so I couldn’t indulge as I had hoped.”
“Does she know yet?”
Kingsley shook his head. “Not yet, but I’m sure the council will want her at the signing since she made it happen, so she’ll need to know before then.”
Mystic gave a cackling giggle as she turned to head back to the main dining room. “Good luck with that, Mage. Now get out of my café. It’s closing time.”
Kingsley chuckled himself as he followed her.
How would he tell Lena she was not as human as she might think? That she contained a magic in her as strong or stronger than what he himself had?
Pushing those thoughts away for the moment, he headed to the front door. He had a peace treaty signing ceremony to prepare for and that had to be his primary focus until the vampire prince and shifter alpha inked the contract.
