Knowing he needs to finish with me, I reach back with one hand and find his balls. The lightest touch of my fingertips has him stiffening beneath me.

“Spencer,” he warns.

My smirk is all evil. “Quick and dirty, remember?”

Still fondling his sack, I ride him harder, grinding over him and enjoying as I watch his jaw tighten. He’s close, but so am I.

I pull my hand back and lean forward until I can capture his lips. I want to taste him as he comes inside me.

Drake doesn’t disappoint. Even with his legs still trapped within his jeans, he moves beneath me, hitting deeper and harder as I start to fall off the edge of the most glorious cliff.

My toes curl and my body begins to coil with seductive tension. Fuck, I’m so close.

Drake’s tongue sweeps across my mouth, and one of his hands grips the back of my head, pulling on the long strands of my loose hair. “Come for me, Dove.”

Those four little words have me crying out and tremors rapid-firing through my body. I fall over him, breathing heavily and panting. “Quick and dirty is really nice.”

“Nice?” His chest rumbles, and he grasps my hair tighter. “That was nice?”

My laughter vibrates through the both of us. “You know it was more than that. Forgive my poor vocabulary. My brain is muddled.”

“When you say it that way, I guess ‘nice’ will do.” He lifts my chin and kisses me again. “We should probably get up.”

Yeah, we probably should.

I’m on my feet as quickly as my ravaged body will let me. As I reach for my pants, I do another cursory glance around the area. There isn’t anything new to sense out there, which is good, but also not what I expect.

If Kel sent those wolves after us, I would have expected a backup plan. One that included sending more when the others failed.

“We should teleport to the next town before shifting into our wolves again,” I tell Drake. “I don’t want to run from Kel, but if she targeted us here, she has the upper hand in this area.”

Then, I unfortunately remember that bitch can speak to Drake through his mind. “Have you heard anything else from her?”

If she spoke to him while we were fucking, I will kill her. Twice.

His head shakes, then he lowers his eyes. “I’m really sorry, Spencer.”

I step toward him as I button my pants. “You have nothing to be sorry for.”

“You didn’t want any of this, and everything has only gotten worse,” he says with a growl. “I thought I could just forego my vengeance because you’re all I need. I didn’t want to bring you into this mess.”

“And you didn’t,” I tell him sternly, holding both of his hands. “I volunteered. This nightmare will be over soon. Just focus on that.”

He nods, but I know he’s still upset. As much as I love that he cares so damn much, he needs to concentrate on the vengeance he was just speaking of. That rage he had when he exited the portal is what we need to win this fight.

Fear and regret won’t get us anywhere. Pure, unfiltered determination to murder that bitch is key.

Once I’m finished redressing, I start to say things I really don’t want to but feel are necessary to the situation.

“Kel stole your life, Drake. She took your home, your freedom, your time. If her spell hadn’t basically frozen you in time, you’d probably be dead. Remember that, and don’t for one second think I regret signing up for this. I might not have known how bad things were, but I knew enough, and nothing has changed since bonding with you.”

His shoulders rise as he takes a deep inhale, but he still keeps his gaze averted.

I go to him and lift his chin with a finger. When I can finally see his eyes, they’re filled with silver sparks and I smile. “There’s my mate.”

“I don’t want to be angry.”

“And I don’t want you to be, either, but sometimes it can’t be avoided,” I say softly. “Let’s show that witch bitch she fucked with the wrong wolf.”
