They’d taken it all away.
Being with them was like nothing I’d ever come close to feeling before.
And there was absolutely nowhere else I’d rather be.
They really had become everything to me.
And that terrified me beyond measure.
What was happening to me?
What were they doing to me?
I was parched.
I’d woken up to find Bastian and Caleb wrapped tightly around me on Caspian’s bed.
Part of me hadn’t wanted to leave their warmth.
But the other… that other more wary and defensive part had found it stifling.
Concerning.
I made my way down the mansion corridors, wrapping the fancy bathrobe around me as I took in the fully lit corridors. Even in the middle of the night, the place was completely lit up.
Weird.
Maybe Caspian had turned the lights on when he’d left the bed sometime earlier. I wondered where he’d gone off to. I’d figured I would wake up to find him there with us too. Especially given the fact that it was actually his bed.
I made my way to the kitchen and as I dipped inside, I pulled up short, finding the elusive Caspian King right there, sitting up at the kitchen island eating a cupcake. A delicious looking vibrant-pink one.
He was shirtless, all that packed muscle on display, a pair of navy silk pajama pants covering his lower half.
He shoved his long hair back. “Come in, love. I don’t bite.”
I jolted at him sensing me, especially with how quiet I’d been moving and then observing for a few moments.
“Well, not outside of sex, anyway,” he added, craning his neck and grinning at me.
I laughed and pulled up a seat opposite him at the island.
Gesturing at the cupcake, I asked, “Is that raspberry?”
“Strawberry cheesecake stuffed cupcakes.”
“Sounds delicious.”
“They are. It’s my mom’s recipe.”
I started. “Your mom’s?”
He licked some icing off his lips, then gave a nod. “She used to make them for me as a means to soothe me when I was young. Comfort food, if you will.”
“That’s really sweet.”
And so was him actually telling me this, something so intimate.
“She was. Through and through.”
