“So it’s my work that’s the problem.”
“Please, Scotti, don’t think I have a problem with what you do. On the contrary, I greatly admire you and your colleagues. Hell, I wouldn’t be alive if there weren’t people brave enough to do what you do. I’m simply saying that it makes us incompatible as a couple. However, if you’re willing, I would like to be friends.”
Scotti considered this for a moment. “I would like that. I think we’d make a great couple, but I respect your decision on that. With that option off the table, I do believe we can also be great friends.”
Naomi let out a small breath of relief. “I think so too, Scotti.”
But, I still want to have sex with her. So, what do I do about that?

Scotti
Scotti knew that this wasn’t a date, but she felt more excited than she had been for any date before. When Naomi had said that she could get them tickets to a very exclusive car exhibition of some of the world’s best cars, she’d jumped at the opportunity.
Apparently, Naomi had saved the daughter of the man who was running the exhibition, and he’d even promised her a test drive of a car of her choice. Naomi had negotiated a passenger for the test drive. Scotti was practically drooling at the thought.
Scotti dressed fancy, as per Naomi’s instructions. She’d had to go to the store to get something suitable, as she’d never been to any fancy events before. Such events weren’t usually Scotti’s thing. This particular event, however, was a glaring exception to that rule.
Naomi was picking Scotti up, as they wouldn’t let Scotti in alone. Naomi had arranged for Scotti to come with her, but apparently they were very strict on who they let in, and Scotti would need to be by Naomi’s side to allow her entrance.
Scotti was hardly complaining. Any time spent alone in an enclosed space with Naomi was good with her. It might drive her crazy, shooting down thoughts of how good it would be to kiss Naomi and wondering how she would moan if Scotti reached just a little lower… but it was still worth it.
Naomi rang the bell and Scotti hurried to answer it. When she saw Naomi, her jaw dropped. Naomi was wearing a long black dress that hugged her hips and flared elegantly down at the bottom. Naomi’s body looked incredible- even though Scotti had been having all these illicit thoughts about Naomi, she had actually never seen her in anything figure hugging. She enjoyed running her gaze over the beautiful curves of Naomi’s breasts, hips and ass.
Her dark curls were piled and pinned on top of her head and her green eyes were sparkling.
Scotti noticed a tattoo on the back of her shoulder blades. She hadn’t expected that. But then she hadn’t expected the ferrari either.
It seemed Dr. Crane was full of surprises.
She immediately regretted her own choices—a bright red satin button down shirt with flames sewn around the collar. She had matched it with a black pant suit and she usually loved the attention she got in it. But today, she should have gone with something more classic. She wasn’t going to fit in among all the other fancy people—
Naomi’s voice interrupted Scotti’s mental spiral. “Scotti… you look incredible! Did you get that custom made? It’s perfect for you.”
“Really? You think it’s suitable?”
“Suitable? Every person there is going to be green with envy. It’s perfect.”
Scotti smiled in relief. “You know, you don’t look too bad yourself.”
“Please, I’ve seen myself in the mirror. Admit it, I look hot.”
“You do,” Scotti admitted. She knew she should keep it at that, but Naomi had started this conversation, hadn’t she? “More than hot, really. You look truly incredible.” Scotti was forthright in her honesty.
Naomi blushed a little. “Thanks.”
Scotti followed her outside to find they were taking the Ferrari to the event. Riding in the Ferrari alone would have been enough motivation for Scotti to go pretty much anywhere.
She examined the exquisite interior as Naomi pulled out onto the street and started driving. She handled the car expertly, her expression relaxed as other cars passed nearby. Scotti, on the other hand, had to stop herself from biting her nails in worry that this beautiful car might be desecrated by a scratch or bump from a careless driver.
“Relax. I’m a good driver and I’ve got great insurance.”
“You’re right. I’m just being paranoid.”
“Not really paranoid. There are a lot of bad drivers out there. But I’m not going to let them stop me from enjoying my car.”
“That’s a good attitude to have. It would be a shame to let a beauty like this go to waste.”
