Page 5 of Saving Her Curves

He turned to her, trying not to dwell on the creamy sweep of her shoulders, or the sides of her breasts that were visible behind the sweater clutched to her chest. Without the oversized shirt hiding her bottom half, he had the perfect view of her jean clad thighs and the roundness of her stomach. He wished he could order her to turn around so that he could see her heart shaped rear.

Hell, he wished he could strip down and join her.

Pushing the lustful thoughts aside, he opened the small closet beside the vanity and grabbed some towels. The bathmat was already in place and there was shampoo and soap in the stall.

“I don’t have any conditioner,” he frowned, his eyes admiring the long silky curls falling past her shoulders. He wanted to push the soft tresses aside and kiss his way across her smooth skin.

“That’s okay, I can live without it.” She gave him a small smile.

“Well, everything else should be in there. Wait, you might need these though.” He reached back into the closet and grabbed a washcloth, a sample toothpaste, and an unopened toothbrush. “I’ll go grab you some clothes. Why don’t you go ahead and get in? You must be freezing.”

“A little bit.”

Another smile curved those full, pouty lips, and he ignored the desire to reach down and adjust his jeans.

Skye wasted no time getting undressed and into the shower after Hank left. He was correct, she was freezing, but the state of her hardened nipples had little to do with the cold air outside. Nope, that was all him. He was the sexiest man she’d been around in a long time and her very aroused body wanted more from him than a physical examination.

Maybe more of that kiss he’d given her…

Adjusting the temperature of the water until steam filled the room, she stood beneath the hot spray, moaning as feeling returned to her extremities. She hadn’t been stranded in the car long before Hank had come to her rescue, but she hadn’t been dressed for walking in a foot of snow either. Hank had tried his best to keep her out of it, but she’d landed knee deep when he’d pulled her from the car. Her boots hadn’t been up to the task and the bottom half of her jeans had gotten soaked. Her legs stung from the hot spray as they warmed up.

Deciding to wash her hair since it was already wet from the snow, she quickly lathered her skin and rinsed off before lathering up her hair. She was glad to see that the body wash and shampoo he used weren’t strictly masculine scents. His body wash was ocean scented and his shampoo was aloe enriched.

Just as she rinsed her hair, she heard the bathroom door open and tensed. Thankfully, the glass door was frosted, but she knew he could still see the outline of her body. The thought excited her, but left her feeling vulnerable. She’d been incredibly drawn to him from the first moment she’d seen his big shape. But did he like her curves? He’d seen most of them already and hadn’t exactly recoiled in horror.

“Skye? I’m leaving you some clothes on the vanity. And some antibiotic cream. Take your time, but don’t stay in too long, okay?”

“Okay. I’m almost done.” She waited to hear the door open and close again. “Hank?”

“Yeah?”

She swore she could hear him breathing. “Do you have a comb I can borrow?”

“Top drawer on the right.” He hesitated then added. “There’s a hair dryer in the closet where I got the towels.”

“Thank you.”

This time she did hear the door close behind him. Deciding she shouldn’t use all of his hot water in case he wanted a shower himself, she turned it off and got out. The towels he’d laid out were large and fluffy, her favorite kind. She quickly dried off, wrapping her hair in one as she dressed. He’d brought in a pair of sweatpants, an oversized t-shirt, an oversized long-sleeved thermal shirt and a pair of thick socks. After applying the cream, she decided to go with the thermal shirt as it covered more skin.

The cabin was warm at the moment, but she knew that might not last if the storm knocked out the electricity. As quickly as she could, she combed the tangles from her hair and partially dried it. She’d be in the bathroom all day if she dried it completely.

The first thing she noticed when she walked out of the bathroom was the delicious aroma filling the cabin. She walked past the living area, admiring the large leather sofa and matching recliners perfectly positioned to enjoy the wide stone fireplace and the windows that took up one whole wall. She could imagine sitting there on cold winter nights—like tonight—watching the snow fall while a fire roared in the fireplace. It was almost dark now, but tomorrow the view would be fantastic.

Her own cabin was much smaller than this one and did not have as many windows. Nothing as spacious or grand as Hank’s. She wondered if he’d had a hand in the building plans.

“That smells delicious.” The kitchen area was just as appealing as the rest of the cabin. It had the necessities, plus a large amount of counter space and a huge island with lots of seating. Hank was filling two big bowls with chili.

“I put this on this morning before I left for work.” He grabbed some silverware and napkins from a drawer and a pack of crackers from the cabinet. He seemed very at home in the kitchen. “I’ve got water, milk, beer, and some soda.”

“A glass of milk sounds good.” She climbed up on one of the stools, the overly large sweatpants making the process a little difficult.

He chuckled. “I guess I should have given you a pair of my shorts instead. They would have been long enough to keep you warm.”

“I can’t help it that I’m short,” she replied a bit defensively. “And these feel really good. They’re so warm.”

And smell of you, she added to herself. A dark, masculine scent that had nothing to do with any fabric softener he might have used.

He came to stand beside her. “Can I look at your head again?”
