“Psst. Psst.” He whispered, trying to get my attention. I pretended not to hear him. “Psst.” He was louder this time. Other students turned around to look at him and swiftly turned back around. I continued to ignore him. He chuckles like it is the funniest thing to him.

Out of the corner of my eye, I could see him still looking at me, his smirk never leaving his lips. Finally, the bell rang, and I quickly grabbed my stuff and tried to leave.

“Hey.” He said to me, giving me a charming smile that would make the panties melt off any girl he wanted. “The name is Odin.”

I wanted to reply, but Evan's voice was screaming in my mind, no talking to guys. You are mine.

“Serena,” Evie called before I could even reply. I took the chance to make my exit.

I looked over my shoulder at the door, seeing Odin still staring at me. I couldn’t tell what he was thinking, but if I had to guess, I was in big trouble with him.

Serena

“Thanks for rescuing me.” I look at Evie and give her an appreciative smile.

“Not a problem, you don't need to thank me. What class do you have next?” We start walking down the hall. I pull the map out of the back of my book, trying to figure out where I need to go next.

“Chemistry,” I reply.

Evie looks down at the map and points to the class I need. “I have Art class. Do you want to sit with my friends and me at lunch? You shouldn’t be alone on your first day.” Evie's eyes are bright when she asks. She seems like such a nice person, or at least better than Cleo. I nod and give in to the thought that maybe I can make a friend while I am here. We don’t have to be BFFs or anything, but not being alone would be great.

We turn down the hall I need for my next class. We walk down the hall in silence until we reach my class. Evie gives me a quick hug that takes me by surprise. I hold still for a second before hugging her back. I have never had someone hug me without a reason before. Cleo was not that type of friend. She expected everything and never gave back. Evie breaks off the hug and heads down the hall for her next class. I walk into my chemistry class and again sit in the back. The class goes by quickly, and neither Zeus nor Odin are in this class with me. There was a bitchy girl that screamed like the Queen Bee at the school, or at least she thought she was. I didn’t pay attention to her or anyone. No one spoke to me or looked at me.

I put my books back into my locker before heading to the cafeteria. Thankfully, Evie was waiting outside the doors for me. She gives me a big smile and waves her hands to get my attention. I chuckle under my breath while making my way over to her.

The cafeteria is full of students. Most are already sitting at tables with their friends. Evie and I got in line for food and made our way through, picking what we wanted. The school does not serve anything I thought Evan would approve of for lunch, so I stuck with a garden salad without dressing. I knew it would be bland, but it was the only option. I guess I will have to make my lunch every day.

Evie guides me to a table. Two girls are already sitting, eating their lunches and chatting.

“Guys, this is Serena.” She says while sitting down next to a girl with black hair that’s cut into a mid-length bob. Her skin is so fair that it looks almost white with her pitch-black hair. She has a pair of thick-rimmed oval eyeglasses. “This is Grace,” Evie says to me.

The girl sitting across from Grace is the complete opposite of her. She has long, rainbow-colored hair. Her eyes were a deep purple color that could only come from contacts. Her skin was a rich olive tone and was flawless.

“That’s Naomi,” Grace says to me.

I sit down next to Naomi while the three of them start talking. I lazily push my salad around with my fork, not eating it. My mind is still on the two dangerous guys I met today. I knew I should stay far away from them, but there was something magnetic about them. I felt drawn to temptation.

It's like my thoughts somehow summoned them, and they walked into the cafeteria with a third guy. He is just as handsome as Odin and Zeus. The three of them walk into the room like they own it, each oozing sex and danger. They are the perfect combination to make any girl melt for them.

“Who are they?” I look back at the girls.

“Those are the Kings,” Naomi says to me. I give her a confused look. “The one in the middle is Midas Anaxson. He is the leader of their gang and practically royalty in this town. On his right is Zeus Skylar, the strong, silent type. He doesn’t say much, but he is a genius or something. The other guy is Odin Hayes. He may seem like the happy, funny type, but people call him a psycho.”

"They have known each other their entire lives and have been inseparable. It's always been them against the world." Grace pipes in.

Midas was tall, dark, and extremely handsome with his pitch-black hair shaved short of the sides, longer up top, and gelled back. He is wearing a black leather jacket over a white T-shirt and jeans. I can see something shining from his right hand. He wears a gold ring on his thumb.

Odin lives up to his Viking name. His long blonde hair is tied back in a bun. He is taller than Midas and more muscular. His shirt is straining against the muscles underneath. He is dressed similarly to Midas- jeans, a crisp white t-shirt, and a flannel tied around his waist. Odin winks at some of the girls that are staring at him. They swoon and sigh like it is the greatest thing that he paid attention to them. I roll my eyes.

Lastly is Zeus. The girls stare at him as much as the other two, but he ignores them completely. He is the same height as Odin and has a similar build. His milk chocolate hair is wild, looking like he woke up and left the house like that. The bright red rose tattoo stands out on his right hand.

“Why are the royalty in the school?” I continue looking at them, wondering what is so special about them.

“Midas’s dad is the President of the Kings of Chaos Motorcycle Club. Everyone in town loves them. The club may do a ton of illegal shit, but they help the town out so much that no one bats an eye at it. Even local police leave them alone. One day, Midas will be the new President. You don’t want to mess with them.” Evie whispers to me, afraid they can hear her across the room.

I roll my eyes at the dramatics of it all. I know this town is different from Florida, but a motorcycle club that runs the town? That is absurd. What’s even crazier to me is how everyone treats them because of it.

Whatever. I’m only here until graduation.
