I grin. “Brother, you’re going to give yourself gray hair if you don’t stop worrying about Macy. What are you going to do if you and Quinn have another little girl? We’ll be putting you in a damn straight jacket to keep you from doing something crazy with the two of them.”

An emotion crosses his face before it clears. I’m not quite sure if it’s fear, terror, excitement, or anticipation, but he’s definitely been thinking about it, despite him and Quinn not being together for that long. “I’ll handle it,” he says easily. “You’re going to get Eden home safe?”

I nod. “I’ll take her home. Then I’ll stop by my place and grab Archer’s stuff and come back. We can just leave from here in the morning for school. I am not attempting to wake him up again.”

Shadow nods. “Then I’m going to head home and crawl back in bed with my woman and send Crypt back. But if you need me to help your big ass get her in without being seen, call me.”

I flip him off as he grins and stands, clapping Bullet on the shoulder as he goes. Once he’s out the door, I look back at Bullet who’s watching me carefully. I arch a brow at him in question, and he says, “I figured you would be the next one to fall, though I thought it would be with Peyton. Not that I don’t like the woman, because I do, but I don’t think you two suited each other. Eden’s definitely more your speed.”

“Peyton and I are good friends, but that’s where it ends. And hell, she’s more sister than friend. And I think that Eden and I will be just fine, but I need to convince her of it first.”

“If anyone can, it’s you,” Bullet says with a slight smile. “Now, I’m going to go in there and see if I can pry Rose away so I can get back to bed. I’m old and need my sleep. And I’ll make sure Archer’s good in case he wakes up looking for you.”

“I doubt he’ll wake up, but thanks, Prez,” I say as I stand with him, and follow him toward the kitchen. I’m already anxious to get Eden alone. And if she’s still hungry, I’ll stop at whatever spot she wants, as long as I know she’s safe.

We barely reach the kitchen when the door opens and out walks King, grass in his hair, and a shit-eating grin on his face. Shit. If he’s here, that means so is Sage. As we stop to update him on the new information we have, a small bead of anxiety forms in my gut. Is Eden feeling overwhelmed with so many people? Then again, even with what little I know of her, I know she can hold her own, even with those two. I just have to hope Sage and Rose are helping me win her over.

Though with those two, you never know what they’re going to say, and that’s what has me worried.

THIRTEEN

EDEN

This is bail fund thing sounds interesting.

“I have to say, this isn’t what I thought your clubhouse would look like,” I tell Rose as I eat the delicious stir-fry she reheated for me. She told me she cooked it herself, and this woman can seriously cook. Damn, I need to get the recipe before I leave.

Rose doesn’t take offense to my blunt statement, and instead chuckles. “You probably thought that you were going to walk into an orgy right?”

I snicker. “Maybe not that, but I figured I’d see a few naked bodies, or some club girls or whatever they’re called. But I really like this place. It’s got that old saloon feeling with modern touch. It’s a cool mix.”

Rose grins. “When I saw this place, I knew it was perfect. Took some convincing to Bullet and the boys, because they wanted to stay at the old clubhouse we had downtown, but once they got out here, they agreed this was the best spot by far. And now I don’t think I could ever imagine anything else. There’s a lot more space, not only in here, but outside as well.”

“And do all the guys live here?” I ask curiously.

“Not as many as before,” she replies as she takes a seat at the end of the island on my right. “My boys all found the loves of their lives and moved into their own places with them, and Shadow moved in with Quinn and Macy. Oh, and Viper has an apartment in town too, since it’s a bit more stable for when he has Archer. But we still have some die hard bachelors around here that I doubt will ever move out.”

I know Viper said he has his own apartment, but still, I have to wonder how much time he spends here when Archer isn’t with him. I mean, if what you see on TV and read in books is true, he’s got pussy at his disposal all hours of day and night. A small bit of jealousy brims, but I ignore it. I have no right to be jealous over someone I’m not involved with.

“Probably cheaper for them than paying rent,” I reply, shoveling another bite of food into my mouth. Damn, this is really good.

“Now, tell me, how exactly you and Viper met,” Rose says with a wide grin. “And did I hear something about him stalking you?”

Ah, so here are the questions. But before I can answer, the back door opens, and in walks a man and woman who look like they’ve spent time rolling around out in the grass. I arch a brow in surprise when I see them, but from the grins on their faces, they’ve been having a great time. His cut calls him King, and as I examine him closely, I realize this must be one of Rose and Bullet’s sons. Then I glance at the woman next to him.

She’s tall, standing about five-ten, with long dark brown hair and amber colored eyes. She has an exotic face and figure, including nicely rounded curves in all the right places. And right now, she’s got a hickey on her neck, grass in her hair, and if I’m not mistaken, dirt on her cheek. When her eyes clash with mine, she regards me curiously, but doesn’t lose her grin. “Hey, Rose,” she says breathlessly as she moves further into the room. “Oh, do you have any more of that, because I’m starving,” she adds, nodding to my plate.

“Sit, and I’ll get you some,” Rose says, standing. “Eden, this is my son King, and his Old Lady, Sage. King, your father, Viper and Shadow are in the common room.”

“Wait, are you the lady that Viper’s been stalking?” Sage asks excitedly, turning to look at me. “Did he kidnap you and bring you here? Blink once for yes, and two for no. Though, maybe you’re into that kind of thing, then no judgment. I like a little chase every now and then,” she adds with a wicked grin and wink. I can’t help but grin back.

“No one was stalking me,” I say with a shake of my head. “We had a one night stand, ran into each other, and now he’s insisting we date. Which I’m not in the market for.”

“Men are a pain in the ass on a good day,” Sage agrees.

“You weren’t saying that a minute ago, Crazy,” King leers, moving forward to take her mouth in a hot, passionate kiss. I notice that he’s also got grass in his hair, and a hickey on his neck to go with the one Sage is sporting.“And we’ll be finishing that when I get you up to our room after you’ve eaten.”

“Mmm, can’t wait,” Sage purrs. Wow, is it hot in here or is it just me?
