“Well, considering there is nothing going on, I think that’s a moot point.” I lean my head back against the sofa cushion. “Ugh, I really need to think of something else. This is stressing me out.”
“Then don’t,” Sadie agrees easily. “Besides, who’s to say he won’t just chalk it up to a good time and never contact you again?”
I lift my head and nod. “You’re right. Okay, so we’ll put him on the back burner and focus on what the hell we’re going to do for our girls weekend next month. You still haven’t told me whatever crazy ideas you have planned.”
Her lips split into a wide, wicked grin. “I have the perfect idea. We should go skydiving!”
I stare at her. “Skydiving,” I repeat slowly. Alright, clearly, my best friend has lost her ever-loving mind. “You want to take the girl who hates extreme heights up into a plane and jump out of it? Are you sure that last guy you were with didn’t fuck your brains out of your ears or something?”
Sadie rolls her eyes. “Don’t be so dramatic. And it’s not like you’re jumping out yourself. You’ll be hooked up to someone”
“Oh, great, so we can both die when something goes wrong,” I snap sarcastically.
“Dramatic doesn’t become you, sweetie,” she says dismissively. “But fine, if you don’t want to do that, then what do you suggest we do?”
I purse my lips in thought. I’m not all that adventurous with ideas, other than going clubbing or maybe to a spa, but I’m itching to do something fun and different. Not skydiving or other extreme sports, but something that we would normally never do. But of course, I’m coming up blank. “I’ve got nothing,” I pout. “But I’m still not skydiving.”
“You know what we should do? We should try out the new sex club that’s opened up in town,” Sadie suddenly proclaims, eyes wide and excited. I blink at her. “Oh come on, it would be so much fun, and I know I can score us passes to get in. It’s exclusive, and they only allow visitors so many days a month and a guy with a membership has invited me a couple of times. And he said that he can get an extra pass or two so that I can bring someone along.”
I arch a brow at her. “So you want our girls weekend to be about going to a sex club so you can get laid?”
“If you play your cards right, you’d be getting laid too. And I’ve heard a lot of the stuff that goes on in there is fucking hot.”
I’m a little curious about the club, but still, that’s not my idea of a good time for a girls weekend. “Maybe we’ll put that on the list, but that’s one night, so what are we going to do the rest of the time?”
“Maybe we should go to Vegas for the weekend.”
I shake my head. “I don’t really feel like getting drunk out of my mind and spending any money I have.”
Sadie sighs. “You really don’t know the concept of wild and crazy girls weekend do you? Are you losing your touch?”
I flip her off. “No, but we always do the same things over and over, and I want to do something different.”
“And I gave some great options.”
“You are not getting me in a plane to jump out of it. The only plane I get in are ones that serve drinks, and hopefully let me sit next to a hot man for most of it.”
Sadie sighs wistfully. “I remember the first time I hooked up with a guy on a plane. It was awesome. Well, until the stewardess caught us, but of course that didn’t stop us. We hooked up again at the terminal when we got off the plane in a one stall bathroom though.”
“Gross,” I say, wrinkling my nose. “You couldn’t have found more sanitary spots to fuck?”
“It was nostalgic and just finishing off what we started,” Sadie snickers. “Besides, we made sure it was clean first.”
Sometimes it shocks me that we’re friends. I do fun and crazy things, but I haven’t done anything like that since college. “Everyone says I’m nuts, but I think you have me beat,” I quip. “Fine, how about we table this discussion until closer to the time and see if we come up with anything else. And no, we are not doing anything that’s dangerous or is about to make me shit my pants and embarrass myself.”
Sadie laughs. “See, depending on what you’re into, that could be fun for both my ideas.”
I shudder. “No. No. I’m not ever going to be into that, and if you are, that’s fine, I don’t kink shame, but that will never happen and I will murder you if you think of trying to get me to do it.”
“Nah, I’m not into that. I know a few people who are, but they’re a bit…extreme, even for me. So if we’re not going to plan anything, I say we get on to the rest of our evening,” Sadie declares happily, putting her food aside and picking up the remote.
We spend the next few hours laughing and joking our way through a new RomCom, and in Sadie’s case, making risque comments regarding the man’s junk and sexual prowess. I swear she’s obsessed with sex. Probably why she’s always in some sort of situation-ship with different people all the time.
When she finally heads home, I head for the bathroom to grab a shower and get ready for bed. It’s getting late and I need to get up at a decent time in the morning to be at the courthouse a bit earlier than normal to catch up on a few things I didn’t get finished today.
Once I’m finally laying in bed, my mind instantly turns back to Viper. Seeing him today was a shock, and made me think about why I ran away. As soon as I saw him and got past my initial shock, I immediately felt that magnetism I felt for him the first time I laid eyes on him. All that lust I felt during our night together, came back and even now, it’s still burning in my gut. A low heat, and a low thrum of desire in my core that makes me want to reach for my favorite toy in my nightstand drawer. Instead, I resist, and shut my eyes, determined to go to sleep.
But it doesn’t come and I open them in annoyance and stare at my ceiling, even though I can’t make it out in the dark.
