“No it’s not. We know who you are and we love you,” Elena said.
Cat smiled at her and tilted her head.
“Okay. I know you two probably have a book date and I have deliveries to make,” Cory said. She hugged Cat. “Oh, I almost forgot. Vi and I want you to go to Talia’s with us for a drink.”
“Is that The Neon Rose you were telling me about?” Elena asked.
“Yep,” Cat replied.
“We had fun at Betty’s and wanted to take y’all to the Rose. What do you say?”
“I’m in, it sounds like fun,” Elena said, looking at Cat.
“Me too. Just let us know when.”
“How about tonight? We have some news on the housing front,” Cory said.
“Did Ella find you something?” Cat asked excitedly.
“Come have drinks and we’ll tell you all about it.” Cory grinned.
Cat chuckled. “Okay.”
“I’ll text you both later,” Cory said and left the store.
“It’s quiet in here this morning,” Elena said, looking around the store.
“Shall we?” Cat nodded towards the reading nook.
“Is that what we do? Are these book dates?” Elena asked, sitting in her favorite chair.
“Hmm, I guess so, but it’s more than books,” Cat replied.
Elena smiled and nodded at her. “I had fun yesterday.”
“I did too. CeCe and Alexis live just around the corner. Maybe we should make it a regular thing. We’ll take turns choosing the movie.”
“I’d love that,” Elena said.
“I’ll tell CeCe.”
“I’m getting my hair highlighted this morning. I can tell her.”
“Okay. This will be fun.”
“Are you doing okay? Really?” Elena asked. “You know Hattie will be back and that has to give you anxiety.”
“Not really. There’s nothing she can say that would make a difference. I’ve decided I want to sell the house and go from there.”
Elena nodded. “Ella works with Victoria at Make It Easy Designs, right?”
“Yes.”
“Maybe they could help you find something. Didn’t Marina help you with the shopping center and CeCe’s house?”
Cat nodded. “They are all so helpful. I won’t qualify for their program, but that doesn’t mean they can’t help me find something.”
“Moving can be fun. I’ll help you.”
