“Yeah, I knew the books I was looking for and planned to browse around the store until I found them. But you walked up and shook my hand, and when I looked into your eyes I thought, this woman would understand.”

“When you left that day I hoped you would come back. I wanted to sit in the reading nook with you.”

“I think it’s working out for both of us.” Elena grinned and squeezed Cat’s hand.

“Yeah, it is,” Cat said as Elena pulled into her driveway. “Is Nicolas coming back by this evening?”

“Nope. He texted and said he would not be showing up unannounced for a while,” Elena said. She hit the button to close the garage door and walked into the house with Cat right behind her.

“What did you plan for dinner?”

Elena giggled and turned around. “Sandwiches.”

Cat’s face lit up. “You are romancing me, El.”

Elena took Cat’s bag and set it on the island then put her hands on Cat’s hips. “I love you and I want to show you.”

“Oh, you’re showing me,” Cat said.

Elena kissed Cat softly. “Wanna dance?”

Cat nodded.

They walked into the sapphic study and Elena got her phone out to pull up the playlist. “I have a sound system in here that connects to wifi,” Elena explained. She looked up at Cat and grinned. “Some of these songs I heard with Nicolas.”

“That means they’ll be fast with a beat.” Cat laughed.

“Yes, but some of the words remind me of us,” Elena said.

Cat pushed the end table to one side of the room then did the same with the coffee table in front of the loveseat where they usually sat. “Wait a minute, you don’t need a couple of beers to do this?”

“Not this time. I want to remember every moment,” Elena said. “I want to start with a sort of slow song by Harry Styles. It’s called ‘Satellite’ and it’s how I felt when I started to fall in love with you.”

“We sang to it that day we went to Betty’s,” Cat said as soft notes began to fill the room.

Elena took Cat into her arms. “I was spinning out, ‘round and round’ like a satellite, just like the song says.”

“And you were right here waiting for me to pull you in,” Cat sang softly.

They held each other close and moved to the music.

Once the song was over Cat asked, “Can you put that on repeat?”

Elena nodded and felt Cat push her down on the loveseat. “Do you know how many times I imagined us together right here?” she said as the music played quietly.

“Catarina,” Elena whispered. She sat on the couch with Cat between her legs. Her arms were pulling Cat closer as they shared a passionate kiss.

“Mmm,” Cat moaned. “I don’t want to listen to the other songs right now.”

Elena smiled and caressed her cheek. She watched Cat reach for the waistband of her leggings and slide them down her legs.

“These leggings,” Cat said with a sexy smile.

Once they were off, Cat leaned up and Elena stared into her eyes. She could see love and desire.

Cat kissed her again and said, “Lie back.”

When Cat kissed her again right below her navel Elena sucked in a ragged breath. She reached for Cat’s curls and buried her fingers in her hair.
