“Yeah, after talking to Alexis, I was all for selling my townhome and redoing a few things at Cory’s place, but this home…”

“It feels like it was built for us,” Cory said, finishing Vi’s thought.

“Where is it?”

“Not far from the shopping center,” Vi said. “It has a big backyard my nephews can play in when they come to visit.”

“Or we can play in when they aren’t there.” Cory chuckled. “I can see us having family get-togethers and parties there.”

“That sounds wonderful,” Cat said. “I guess I need to talk to them about finding me a place.”

“What?” Cory asked.

Cat nodded. “Yeah, I’ve decided to sell the house.”

“Have you told Hattie?”

“I told her today.”

“Today?” Cory asked, looking confused.

“Yeah, she came in this morning not long after you left.”

“How did that go? Were you still there, Elena?” Vi asked.

“Yes, but Cat needed to talk with Hattie alone so I left,” Elena explained.

“I meant to tell you earlier,” Cat said, turning to Elena. “Your hair looks beautiful.”

“Thank you.” Elena smiled.

“Did CeCe do it?” Vi asked.

“Yes, I’ve been getting it highlighted for a while now. There’s a little gray and I wasn’t ready for that.”

“Your hair is beautiful whether you get it highlighted or not,” Cat said.

The sparkle in Cat’s eyes once again caused warmth to course through Elena’s body. She pulled her gaze away and looked over at Cory and Vi. “When can we see this house?”

“Soon. We have to make an offer, but I’m sure Ella wouldn’t mind showing it again,” Cory said.

“We’d love to see it,” Cat said.

Elena took a moment to gaze around the bar and noticed it was mostly women occupying the tables and bar. The vibe was casual and friendly.

“Is this the first time you’ve been here?” Cory asked.

“Yes,” Elena said. “I love it. Everyone seems so friendly.”

Cory chuckled. “It’s a Monday night. On Friday and Saturday it gets rather lively.”

“And loud,” Vi added. “They turn the music up and you have to shout to be heard.”

“Is that a dance floor?” Elena asked, indicating a small area towards the back of the bar.

“Yeah,” Cory said.

“Do you want to dance?” Cat asked Elena.
