“I know. Mine too.”

“I don’t get it,” Elena said. “Cat is such a good person. Did you see how cute she looked the other night in her jeans and that flannel shirt?”

CeCe’s eye brows rose on her forehead.

“Have you set your sights on my sister?” CeCe asked with a grin.

Elena laughed nervously.

“You know, this idea you came up with is brave. I would’ve loved to see you walk up to Cat and kiss her right in front of Hattie.”

“I didn’t think twice about it. I just did it. I could feel my hands shaking, so I grabbed one of Cat's,” Elena said.

“And?”

“Do you want me to kiss and tell?” Elena asked, raising her brows.

“I certainly do.”

Elena laughed then narrowed her gaze. “I’m not sure I should tell you this.”

“Come on, now. If you can’t talk to your stylist, who can you talk to?” CeCe said.

“But she’s your sister,” Elena said.

“Spill it.”

Elena sighed. “It may not have been a fake kiss on my end.”

“Noted.”

“And when Hattie walked into the bookstore just now, we kissed again.”

CeCe smiled. “And who initiated this kiss?”

“Cat did.”

CeCe nodded. She leaned close to Elena’s ear and quietly said, “Fake it till you make it.”

Elena stiffened. Was CeCe telling her to go for it with Cat? “Uh, Cat wants to sell the house,” she said, changing the subject away from kisses.

“Yeah, she told me and Alexis before you came over yesterday. I think it’s a good idea.”

“What do you think she’ll do? Where will she go?” A hint of an idea began to take shape in the back of Elena’s mind.

“She’ll figure it out. Cat’s the planner in our family. She gets that from my dad. I’m a little surprised she hasn’t done something with the house before now. It’s been over a year.”

“Do you think it’s because she’s ready to move on now?”

“Mmm, she moved on a long time ago. I think Cat had to get her sparkle back.”

“Sparkle?” Elena repeated, raising her brows.

CeCe chuckled. “Yeah, I guess sparkle would describe me more than Cat, but you know what I mean.”

“Yeah, I do. I think Cat has a sparkle beneath that librarian demeanor. You just have to know where to look.”

“Librarian.” CeCe giggled. “Oh, she sells books. I guess so.” CeCe stopped and stared at Elena. “And you know where to look.”
