“Nope. We’re talking about you,” Elena said, pointing at Cat.

“Okay,” Cat said, leaning back in her chair. “I’ll make a deal with you. If I see someone who interests me I’ll let you know.”

“Oh? Let me know?”

“Yes. In order to do that I will have to open my closed off, black heart.”

Elena laughed. “Cat Sloan, your heart could never be black.”

“It feels like it some days.”

Elena reached over and squeezed Cat’s hand. “Not anymore. What do you say we go in the other room and gaze at the empty shelves? I have brownies for dessert.”

“How could I say no to a brownie?” Cat grinned.

They got up and Cat took their plates to the sink while Elena got the brownies.

“Don’t you dare try to do the dishes. I’ll put those in the dishwasher later,” Elena said, giving Cat a menacing look.

“Okay, okay.”

Elena led them into the other room and they once again sat on the loveseat.

“So, you like the blue vibrator?” Cat asked.

“I thought I was the one who asked the questions,” Elena said.

Cat chuckled as she took a bite of her brownie. “Mmm, this is good.”

“Thanks. To answer your question, yes, I do like Aqua,” Elena said.

“Aqua?”

“Yep. I named her.”

“Her? You know that means something.”

Elena giggled. “I do. I’ve thought about getting her a friend.”

“A friend?”

Elena nodded. “Will you take me to The Bottom Shelf tomorrow?”

“Of course. Do you have another in mind?”

“Yes and I want to get lube.”

Cat’s eyes widened. “Okay.”

“Which ones do you have?”

“I’m learning not to be surprised by you.” Cat chuckled. “Well, I have the same one you have and it’s my favorite.”

“What others?”

“That’s the only one.”

“Really? Hmm, I guess I’ll have to try out some of the others and report back to you.”
