“While you were falling in love, I also got to know Alexis, Vi, and Elena. I paid attention to your styles and your personality. My girls were easy. I knew what y’all should wear. No one could wear that white suit better than Cory.”
“I couldn’t agree more,” Vi said, kissing Cory on the cheek.
“CeCe had to have a strapless ivory gown.” Christine smiled.
“With that flowing red hair and those blue eyes, you are a beauty,” Alexis said with a big smile.
“And my little flannel loving baby,” Christine said. “I knew you were tired of wearing suits and nice dresses as an accountant all those years. You are a vision in soft lace. I didn’t know that they call that a high low hem, but it’s beautiful on you.”
“I love it, Mom,” Cat said.
“I do, too,” Elena said, putting her arm around Cat’s waist.
“I had a little help with the rest of y’all, but I was confident in the selections you had to choose from,” Christine said.
“My mom said the two of you had fun selecting options for me,” Vi said. She wore a sleek, elegant, knee-length off the shoulder white dress.
“This suit with the wide pant legs you found for Alexis is perfect. The way it drapes over your body is…” CeCe said, staring Alexis up and down.
“Save that for later,” Christine chided her middle daughter.
Elena chuckled. “Nicolas told me how much fun he had with you choosing options for me.”
“I’m glad you chose this suit with the sheer jacket. You look stunning,” Cat said.
“The two of you look amazing standing next to each other,” Alexis said.
“Thanks,” Cat said. “I think our outfits complement our partners. Who knew six brides could look so different and yet go together.”
“How did you get Krista involved so we could have our wedding on the beach?” CeCe asked.
“She came to me,” Christine said. “She knew the event planner and they went to work.”
“Krista knows how special this place is to all of us,” Cory said, smiling at Vi.
Christine chuckled. “Tara had something to say about that. She claims her fabulous lake home deserves the credit for Cat and Elena’s awakening.”
Cat and Elena both laughed. “Her place is rather magical,” Cat said.
“I’m glad y’all decided to forego the tradition of not seeing one another before the wedding,” Christine said.
“It was nice of Krista and Melanie to give us each a cabin to get ready and see each other in our outfits for the first time,” CeCe said.
“Since we’re on the beach I didn’t have to worry about your shoes,” Christine said with a grin.
“Is everyone ready?” Krista asked, coming in from the deck. “Your family and friends are seated and waiting for the brides.”
“We’re ready,” Christine said with a big smile.
“You all look lovely. Absolutely stunning,” Krista said. “Take a moment to look out over the beach.”
They all walked to the bank of windows that overlooked the deck and the beach.
“Every person down there loves you and can’t wait to share this special moment with you,” Krista said.
“Our friends from Make It Easy Design are all here,” CeCe said. “They helped us start the shopping center.”
“I see my colleagues and friends from the practice and the hospital,” Alexis said.
