“You have no idea, Jess.”

Jessica gave Cat a confused look. “Are you sure you’re all right?”

“I’m more than all right,” Cat replied. “Thanks again for closing last night and opening this morning.”

“I was glad to do it.” Jessica smiled.

“There you are,” Vi said, hurrying into the bookstore.

“Hey,” Cat said. “Aren’t you moving today?”

“Yes. Cory is at the house directing the movers, but I need some help from you and CeCe.” Vi tilted her head and gave Cat a look. “Something’s different about you.”

“She went to Tara Holloway’s lake house last night,” Jessica said.

“Oh, that’s right. Cory and I are ready to help with the event.”

“Thanks, I told Tara and Lauren,” Cat said.

“I know what it is,” Vi said with a smile. “You look happy.”

Cat chuckled. “Well, I guess because I am.”

CeCe walked up to the counter in a huff. “Sorry about that. That particular client likes to talk.”

“It’s okay. I just found Cat,” Vi said to CeCe.

“I didn’t know I was lost,” Cat teased.

Vi chuckled. “I don’t know what happened at the lake, but I like the change in you.”

“The lake?” CeCe said, confused.

“It’s nothing,” Cat said. “What do you need our help with?”

“I’ve talked Cory into staying at her house tonight because when we spend our first night in our new home, I want her to be my fiance´e.”

Cat and CeCe gasped. “You’re going to propose!”

“I want to propose in The Liquor Box at the exact spot where we first looked into each other’s eyes,” Vi said dreamily.

“How romantic,” CeCe said. “That’s kind of what I did with Alexis.”

“I remember. I was there,” Jessica said. “It was amazing.”

“Hopefully this will be, too,” Vi said. “Cat, I need you and Elena to pick up the food at Betty’s and CeCe, I’ll have the champagne ready for you and Alexis.”

“When are we doing this?”

“Tomorrow night at closing. Once she says yes,” Vi said, holding up crossed fingers.

“Oh, come on, you know she will,” Cat said.

“When she says yes, y’all come in through the front door and we’ll party,” Vi said.

“Are we supposed to stay hidden?” CeCe asked.

“No, I’m going to tell her I’ll lock the front door and y’all can look in the windows. We’re going to salsa before I get down on one knee,” Vi explained.
