Cory chuckled. “Are you sure it’s okay for me to stay with you tonight at your place with them there?”

“Yes! I’m not spending a night away from you just because my parents are here. They know what we do, Corrine.”

“Shh, they might hear you,” Cory whispered loudly.

Vi chuckled. “We’re grown women.”

“Yeah, we are, but you’re still their little girl and only daughter.”

“And you are my love and I’m not spending a night without you, no matter what. You are now stuck with me.”

“What a perfect place to be stuck,” Cory said in a sultry tone.

“Don’t I know it,” Vi replied, her voice just as low and sexy.

“Stop it,” Cory whispered. “Your parents are right over there!”

Vi laughed, kissed Cory on the lips, and went to join her parents.

Cory was in the kitchen making breakfast when Josie walked in.

“Good morning. Would you like a cup of coffee?”

“Yes please,” Josie replied and sat down at the island.

“I’m warming these amazing cinnamon rolls Violet and I treat ourselves to occasionally. They are so good. You and Alberto have to try them.”

Josie smiled. “I love how you call her Violet. She doesn’t allow many people to do that.”

Cory chuckled and sat down across from Josie. “I know, but it’s such a beautiful name and she’s a beautiful woman.”

Josie nodded and sipped her coffee. “I don’t know when we last danced that much. Thank you for taking us last night.”

“It has become one of our favorite places. Violet was surprised when she found out I could salsa. She’s taught me how to rumba and tango since then.”

“You two are natural partners.”

“It doesn’t look strange to see two women dancing around the floor?” Cory asked.

“Not at all when you’re so good at it,” Josie replied.

“I love dancing with Violet,” Cory said dreamily.

“I think you’d love anything as long as you’re doing it with my daughter,” Josie remarked.

Cory nodded. “I would.”

“I’ve heard a difference in Vi during our phone conversations, and now I can see it, too.”

“I hope it’s a good difference,” Cory said, raising her eyebrows and sipping her coffee.

“Oh, it is. She’s more carefree,” Josie explained. “Vi has always been focused on her career and going forward.”

“Believe me, she still is.”

“Yes, but she’s finding time to do things that give her joy. She didn’t do that before.”
