Cory nodded. “But the best part,” she said, taking Vi’s hand and turning them around to gaze at the bedroom, “is that I see us here, where I’ll get to go to sleep with you next to me and wake up the next morning even more in love with you.”
“How about the part before we go to sleep?” Vi said, raising her eyebrows.
Cory smiled. “We’ll be making love for years in this house or wherever we live.”
“Oh, baby. I see those things too, but it’s such a new vision for me. I thought I would be alone, running this fucking liquor business and that’s it. No partner, no kids, keeping in touch with my family. With you, all of that has changed. Did you think you’d ever find someone?”
“I hoped, but I never saw myself as a mom. I thought I’d be an aunt someday.” Cory shrugged.
Vi raised her eyebrows with a question and Cory knew what she was asking.
“CeCe isn’t having kids, but you never know with Cat. Our quiet little sister constantly surprises us.”
“But, like you said, you are an aunt now.” Vi put her arms around Cory’s waist and pulled her in close. “Because I’m never letting you go. It’s you and me, baby, forever and ever.”
Cory chuckled. “That would be my happily-ever-after.”
“Let’s get this house and make it our home,” Vi said with hope in her eyes.
“Are you sure? This isn’t too much too fast?”
Vi shook her head. “Nope, it’s our time, baby.”
Cory felt like her heart was going to explode. The most amazing woman was in love with her and this was where they would make their home. “Let’s go tell Ella and Gia.”

“I’m so glad you took the morning to make deliveries with me,” Cory said, glancing over at Vi.
Vi chuckled. “It’s amazing how nice Jelena and Chris were to me while we were at Betty’s. They were nice enough before, but when you told them our news it was as if a switch flipped.”
“They liked you from the beginning. I really think Chris wanted to take your offer, but was afraid he’d lose my friendship. The way you helped me restructure his deal made it that much sweeter.”
“Have you noticed we make a good team?” Vi said, taking Cory’s hand in hers.
“I’ve known that for a long time now,” Cory said. “I wish you could be with me when I give Grant the new contract for the Tanglewood Country Club deal. He loved your ideas on how to make events at the country club more popular and of course it helps us with the added liquor sales.”
“Sometimes you have to help people see their potential,” Vi said. “I learned that not too long ago when a certain beautiful blond walked into my office with a list of prospective new accounts for me.”
“A beautiful blond, huh,” Cory teased. “I hope you gave her compensation for those accounts.”
“Oh, I still am.” Vi giggled.
Cory laughed. “You know, it wasn’t that long ago, but so much has happened since then.”
“So many good things have happened,” Vi said. “I can’t wait to sign the papers on our new home.”
“It will be ours in a couple of days. We couldn’t have asked for better timing. Your townhouse closed and we moved all your things out.”
“They’re ready to move into our home and the movers will be at your house while we sign the papers.”
“I think we’ll be able to spend our first night in our new home that night!” Cory said excitedly.
“We’ll see,” Vi said. “I think we should wait until Friday.”
“Why?”
“Because I don’t want to spend the first night in our new place tired and sweaty,” Vi explained. She had realized a few days ago that everything was coming together, but there were a couple of things she wanted to do to make their first night in their home perfect. Cory was going to be so surprised if Vi could pull this off. She had asked for help and Cory’s sisters were more than willing, along with Alexis and even Elena.
