CeCe giggled. To think she could have that effect on someone like Alexis made her heart soar. “Hey, I noticed earlier that you aren’t drinking much. If you don’t like the wine, I’m sure Krista will get you something else.”

Alexis leaned in and softly said, “There is no way I’m getting drunk tonight. I have you in a cabin, with not one but two beds, and no one to interrupt us. We get to take our time and I can hardly wait.”

CeCe could feel the heat rush to her cheeks. “Good God, Lex. You’re making me very hot right at this moment. I may have to take you to the restroom.”

“Oh no,” Alexis said. “You made the rules. In a bed, not in the back room or a bathroom, and we get to go slow.”

CeCe gave her a dreamy look.

“Are you swooning, CeCe Sloan?” Alexis said with a sexy smile.

“I fucking am.” She nodded.

Alexis laughed then leaned in and gave her a romantic kiss. When she pulled away, CeCe grabbed the front of her shirt and brought her back in for another long, soulful kiss.

“Do you think they’d care if we go back to the cabin now?” CeCe asked, taking a deep breath.

“Nope.”

A short time later they said their goodbyes and walked back to the cabin.

“Could you feel all the love in that room?” CeCe asked, holding Alexis's hand.

“Yes. I felt like we were being whisked up into some kind of magical romantic haze,” Alexis replied.

“I feel like I’m still there.” CeCe stopped and turned to Alexis before they stepped into the cabin.

“I feel a heightened sense of possibility with us, CeCe,” Alexis said softly.

Was this the beginning of what CeCe had been waiting on? She was through with flings and one-night stands, but she still had doubts she could be the one for Alexis. There was only one way to find out.

* * *

They’d come into the bedroom, hand in hand, and stopped at the edge of the bed. Alexis was surprised at how much she’d been looking forward to this moment and now that it was here, she was nervous. There was always a certain thrill of how her heart pounded when she was about to have sex. Sometimes it was a look or touch with someone else that led to a quick bout of passion and climax.

Wasn’t it simply a physical need? That’s how she’d looked at most of her past dalliances. There were a couple of women she’d seen for a short time, but they certainly weren’t relationships. Those had happened quite some time ago and neither had come close to breaking the ice that encased her heart.

But CeCe Sloan was different. Alexis knew this the first time CeCe did her hair. She’d envisioned a friend, maybe a confidant, because she knew CeCe liked to have fun just as Alexis did away from the staunch confines of the hospital.

All of that changed when Alexis walked into Salon 411 and CeCe met her with a glass of champagne. The look CeCe gave her along with the accompanying smile began to crack the ice around Alexis's heart.

Right now, CeCe was giving her the same look as Alexis slowly pulled CeCe’s dress over her head. CeCe’s eyes were like some kind of x-ray vision warming Alexis's heart until she thought it might explode.

CeCe put her hand in the middle of Alexis's chest. “Breathe, baby, just breathe.”

Alexis smiled then inhaled and slowly let it out. “You are so beautiful, Cecilia. Sometimes you make it hard to breathe.”

“I know,” CeCe whispered. She lifted Alexis's shirt over her head and dropped it on top of her dress. “As much as I like you in these tight black jeans, let’s get you out of them.”

Alexis shimmied out of her jeans and smiled at CeCe. “You first,” she whispered.

CeCe gave her a daring look and slowly lowered the straps of her bra and reached around to unhook it, letting it fall to the floor.

Alexis was taken by CeCe’s beauty. Her gaze started at CeCe’s long thick red hair as it flowed over her shoulders and stopped to drink in her ample perfect breasts.

“Your turn,” CeCe said softly.
