“Cecilia,” Alexis murmured when CeCe pulled away and rested her head on Alexis's shoulder. She wrapped her arms around CeCe and held her close for several moments.
CeCe finally sat up and looked at the floor. She picked up Alexis's undies and twirled them with one hand. “We’ve been invited out to Lovers Landing on Saturday.”
Alexis chuckled and tried to snatch her panties from CeCe’s hand, but just missed. “Are you going to let me have those back?”
“We’ll see.” CeCe grinned.
Alexis laughed. “Okay. Tell me about this invitation.”
“Melanie invited us out. It’s a non-date,” CeCe explained.
Alexis raised her eyebrows. “A non-date? But if I’m getting a new stylist does that mean…”
“It means that the next time we have sex, it’s not going to be against a wall or on a couch or—” CeCe looked around the room. “Or even in this room. We’re going to have a bed and we’re taking all our clothes off and—”
“And we’re taking our time,” Alexis said, finishing CeCe’s sentence.
CeCe gave Alexis the most beautiful smile. It unexpectedly made Alexis's heart melt. “Uh, what about Saturday?” she said, wondering what CeCe was doing to her heart.
CeCe quickly told Alexis about going to Lovers Landing last Saturday with her sisters. She explained how she found out that Alexis was Krista’s surgeon. “Melanie wanted us to come out Saturday so you could check on Krista and I could visit with her. She offered us a cabin for the night.”
“Oh, she did? That’s nice.”
“Do you want to stay?” CeCe asked.
“Is it our first date?” Alexis asked with a grin.
CeCe gazed down at Alexis. “No.” She narrowed her gaze. ”Do you even want to go on a date with me?”
“I do now,” Alexis said.
“What does that mean?” CeCe said, furrowing her brow.
“Can I sit up? You’ve kind of got me pinned down here,” Alexis said, trying to move.
“You’re just fine,” CeCe said, looking down at her and waiting.
“Okay. I love flirting with you.” Alexis reached for CeCe’s hand and interlaced their fingers. “When you told me you don’t date clients, I didn’t know if you meant it or if you were trying to tell me something else. I can’t stop thinking about you either and I would love to take you out on a proper date since you seem to want to go.”
CeCe laughed. “You think I wouldn’t want to go out with you!”
Alexis shrugged.
“Let’s go on this non-date to Lovers Landing but then you have to promise to take me out on our first real date after that.”
Alexis raised her hand. “I promise. But why can’t you take me out?” she asked, raising one eyebrow.
“You’re the one that started this,” CeCe stated.
“Oh I did? How did I do that?”
“You came to the open house. That showed me I meant something to you.”
Alexis's heart melted even more. “Let me up,” she said earnestly.
CeCe moved so Alexis could sit up next to her.
Alexis gently cupped CeCe’s face and gazed into her eyes. A soft smile covered her face and she said, “I want to know everything about you, Cecilia Sloan. I want to know why it doesn’t bother me when you call me Lex, but if anyone else calls me that I cringe. I want to know what you taste like. I want to know why of all the people you could go out with, you want to go out with me. Your effervescent spirit washes over me every time you look at me or smile at me or I think of you. I’m not that kind of person, but with you, I am.”
