“Come on, you know you did. We don’t celebrate you enough, big sister,” CeCe said, laughing.

“Ha ha. I called to see if you’d go on a delivery with me,” Cory said.

“You deliver?”

“Sometimes. Krista called looking for a specific bottle of wine and I happened to have it. I told her I’d bring it out to their place at the lake,” Cory explained.

“I thought you were working,” CeCe said.

“I was, but Taylor came in and insisted I take the day off since it’s my birthday.”

CeCe chuckled. “So the hard-ass owner is letting her employees boss her around.”

“Krista happened to call when Taylor was there, so it all worked out. I hoped you and Cat would ride out to the lake with me. I’m sure Krista would love to see you.”

“Come get me.”

“Okay, see you soon.”

A short time later the Sloan sisters were on their way to the lake resort.

“What do you have in the bag, Cat?” CeCe asked.

“I brought along a few toys from The Bottom Shelf to see if Krista might be interested,” Cat replied.

CeCe giggled. “Krista will love it. Does she have a group there this weekend?”

“No,” Cory replied.

“How does that work exactly?” Cat asked.

“It started as a secret hideaway for closeted gays in Hollywood. There are some women who are afraid that if the public knew of their sexual orientation, it could affect their careers,” Cory explained.

“It’s also a secluded place where couples can get away and not be bothered by nosy paparazzi,” CeCe added. “I’ve been out here a few times and the women are so nice. Even the ones that have reputations of being divas are friendly.”

Cory turned onto a small paved road off the main highway and after a couple of curves they pulled up to the main office and restaurant of Lovers Landing.

“I love the name of this place,” CeCe said.

“It’s almost as good as The Liquor Box,” Cory replied with a grin.

CeCe and Cat shook their heads at their sister as they walked into the restaurant and found Krista sitting with her wife, Melanie, at a table next to a large window that looked out over the lake.

CeCe stopped and took in the view. The lake was calm and the water was a bright blue just like the Sloan sisters' eyes.

“Oh wow!” Krista exclaimed, standing up. “How did we get so lucky to have all three Sloan sisters here?”

“This is a treat,” Melanie said. “Sit down and catch us up. How are things going with the shopping center?”

“So far, so good,” Cory said, handing Krista the bottle of wine.

She looked at the label and smiled. “Tara is going to be so happy,” Krista said. She looked over at Cory and added, “You said you’d have whatever I needed when you pitched your store to get our business.”

“And we deliver,” CeCe said with a grin. “It just happens to be our big sister’s birthday.”

“It is!” Krista exclaimed. “Let’s have a drink.” Krista went around to the bar. “Beer? Wine? Cocktail?”

“Beer is fine,” Cory said with a big smile. She looked over at CeCe and shook her head. “You didn’t have to say anything.”
