“You do look fabulous, but CeCe can’t take all the credit.”

Alexis gave Michael a surprised look.

“What? Yes, I remember her name. You always talk about her for days after she’s done your hair.”

Alexis furrowed her brow. She had no idea she talked about CeCe to her friends and equally surprising was that Michael remembered her name. “Believe me, CeCe wouldn’t take any of the credit, but she deserves most of it.”

Michael smiled then hit his hands on his thighs as he got up. “Have a good time. I won’t mention CeCe to Lana…yet.” He winked at Alexis and walked to the door. “You will let me know if there’s something to know, right?”

“It’s just drinks with her sisters and the people who work at the salon.”

Michael smiled. “You say that, but your eyes are sparkling and that grin tells another story. See ya.”

Alexis smirked as Michael left her office.

Do I talk about CeCe at the clinic? She remembered recommending her to a colleague, but tried to think back to her last appointment. There was no way she could leave the salon without being in a good mood because CeCe was so full of life. It was like she infused her joy into her clients as she did their hair.

“Here are the files you asked for,” Donna said, walking into Alexis's office with her hands full.

“Thanks, Donna. You can set them right here,” Alexis said, clearing a space on the corner of her large desk.

As Donna set the files down Alexis leaned back in her chair. “Hey, Donna.”

“Hey?”

“Do you know my hair stylist’s name?”

Donna gave her a confused look. “Is this a test?”

Alexis chuckled. “No.”

“Her name is CeCe. Why?”

“You know her name, too!” Alexis exclaimed.

“Yeah. Why is that a big deal?”

“Dr. Pierce just remarked that I talk about CeCe a lot after I’ve had my hair styled.”

Donna seemed to think, then nodded. “Yeah, you do.”

“Hmm, I didn’t realize I did that.”

“I always feel good after I’ve had my hair done, but…” Donna said, trailing off.

“But?”

“I don’t know. You always come back with stories about CeCe did this or CeCe did that. It’s obvious you’ve had a good time and you like her. Aren’t you friends?”

Alexis considered what Donna said and shrugged. “I guess we are. We don’t see one another like friends do, but we do have fun when we are together.”

“And who of your friends do you see and do friends things with?” Donna asked, giving her a pointed look.

“There’s—” Alexis began. She put her elbow on her desk and raised a finger. “Uh, or—”

Donna raised her eyebrows and waited. After a moment she said, “Exactly. You don’t do friends things.”

Alexis bristled.
