“Okay.” CeCe took a bite out of her cone.

“When Gabriel asked if we liked live music, how did you know I did?” Alexis asked.

“I’ve been cutting your hair for a while now. Don’t you think we’ve gotten to know a few things about one another?” CeCe replied.

Alexis tilted her head. “I guess we do.” She studied CeCe for a moment and grinned. “I know that you don’t like onions.”

“That’s true. I don’t.”

“I remember once when you were cutting my hair, y’all were ordering food and you told them no onions. I started to ask you who you were kissing, and if that’s why you didn’t want onion breath.”

CeCe laughed. “I would’ve loved that!” She took another little bite of her cone. “But I really don’t like onions, kissing or not.”

“How did you know I’d like chocolate and vanilla ice cream swirled together?” Alexis asked.

“I know you like vanilla because you’ve told me that before, but I also know you are dangerous and not afraid of anything,” CeCe said, bumping Alexis's shoulder with her own. “I knew you’d try it and like it.”

CeCe stuck her tongue down inside her cone, trying to get another bite of ice cream. She was aware that Alexis was watching her every move.

“This was a really good idea and it’s giving me more ideas,” Alexis said seductively.

CeCe leaned over and kissed a speck of ice cream from Alexis's lips. “It’s almost Saturday,” she said in a husky voice.

Alexis smiled. “Thank you for today.”

CeCe smiled. “Anytime, Doc. You’ve made my day happy and hopefully there’s something good about this one for you.”

“I liked how you held my hand on the walk over here. That made me happy,” Alexis said.

“Oh.” CeCe nodded. “Does Dr. Reed have a little romantic side to her?”

“Can this be our first date?” Alexis asked earnestly.

CeCe swallowed the bite she’d just taken. “Why? Do you want to have sex?”

Alexis widened her eyes. “Not that I’m turning you down, but no.” Her face softened. “I want to remember this as our first date because it’s so perfect.”

“Oh, Alexis Reed. Are you trying to make me swoon?” CeCe gazed into Alexis's eyes and felt her heart doing flips in her chest along with the butterflies in her stomach.

Alexis smiled as they finished their ice cream.

“Do you have a list of first dates or…” CeCe trailed off, handing Alexis a napkin.

Alexis wiped her fingers and smiled at CeCe. “I have a feeling we’ll look back and remember this one day.”

So many emotions were suddenly running through CeCe’s head and heart. Alexis was saying all the right things and as much as CeCe wished they were in the back room tearing each other’s clothes off, what she really wanted was to kiss this amazing woman.

“Definitely swooning,” she whispered as she leaned in and softly kissed Alexis.

When they slowly pulled apart Alexis smiled. “Saturday can’t come soon enough.”

CeCe pulled into the circular drive in front of Alexis's house. It was a beautiful white brick home with black trim that gave it a sleek, clean look. It struck CeCe that it was a sizable home for only one person, but it also fit Alexis's persona. It was welcoming and the black accents gave it a modern, structured feel. To CeCe, it showed the Alexis she knew. There was the strict all-business surgeon, but also the exciting sexy woman she couldn’t wait to spend the night with.

“You found me,” Alexis said with a grin as she opened the front door.

“You did text me your address, Lex,” CeCe teased her as she walked into the foyer. “What a beautiful home.”
