We’ll see about that. Are you warm?

I am, but where is your TV? I thought you’d have one in your bedroom.

Laughing to myself, knowing she’ll have no clue, I pull up Felicity’s contact and hit dial. After a couple of rings she answers.

“Is it just your big TV in the living room?”

I laugh. “Look up for me. Do you see it?”

“Look at wh- Oh, that?”

“Yes, that. If you look above the nightstand, you’ll see some controls to lower the projector. That’s your TV. It’ll come right down above the fireplace. Which is worked by the remote set in the holder by my side of the bed.”

“Wait, your bedroom TV is a projector?”

“Yes.”

“Could you be anymore extra?”

A smile traces my lips. “I could try.”

I hear a ruffling of sheets.

“Jesus, Jon. It’s huge.”

My smile grows wider.“You’ve already told me that, Angel.”

“I’m rolling my eyes right now.”

“Yes, I know it is, but I use it to watch game footage and movies. I need my movies.”

“Oh yeah, what do you have loaded on this thing?”

“It’s all Netflix.”

A few more beats pass.

“Hang on. This is all chick flicks. Bridesmaids, Pretty Woman, Bridget Jones…Jon, are you a rom-com man?”

“Bridesmaids is one of the finest movies of our time.” I look over at Zach. He’s not moved or batted an eyelid. He knows me.

“Aw, you old softie. Well, I wish you were here with me. I’m heading straight into Bridesmaids.”

My mind immediately takes me to images of Felicity in my bed, in one of her tiny sleep sets, curled up watching Bridesmaids.

Jesus.

My voice is low and gruff, “You don’t know how much it's killing me knowing you’re in my bed, and I can’t touch you.”

Out of the corner of my eye, I see Zach put his headphones on. He knows the score, something I’ve done for him many times.

“Is that so?” she replies in a teasing tone, and I hear more sheets rustling like she’s adjusting herself under the covers.
