“Your twin brother,” he says, obviously knowing.
I nod.
“Are you two close?”
I shrug. “I like to think so. He’s a pain in my ass most of the time, but I’d take a baseball bat to someone’s knees over him. And I know he’d do the same for me.”
“Good,” Dae says, then looks over at me. “Family’s important.”
“It’s everything.” I lay my head against the headrest and reach over to run my fingers through his hair. He keeps it long and often, like me, wears it in a low bun at the nape of his neck. But now it’s down, falling an inch or two below his shoulders.
The silky strands glide effortlessly through my fingers.
“Are you close with your entire family?” he asks, his voice sounding huskier. I suspect it has to do with my fingers playing in his hair.
“What?” I ask jokingly. “Didn’t you read through and document all of the paperwork you have at the club for the rest of my family who are members like you did me?”
A half-grin spreads on his beautiful face as he turns to me. “You’re the only person in your family I wanted to bend over my counter and fuck until your voice became hoarse from screaming my name, little warrior.”
My fingers still. My entire body stills. Well, not my whole body because my nipples harden.
“Close your mouth, baby. It’s giving me ideas, and we still have another ten minutes until we arrive at where we’re going.”
I didn’t even realize that my mouth was open. “Stop saying stuff like that,” I admonish.
“Because you’re too embarrassed over how your body responds when I do?”
Yes.
“No.” I withdraw my hand and go to fold my arms over my chest, but Dae captures my hand. He brings it to his lips and kisses each of my fingers before placing my hand back in his hair.
“I like it when you touch me. Keep doing it,” he orders.
My fingers move as if they’re under his command. “I’m only doing it because I want to,” I mumble.
A soft chuckle echoes around the inside of the car.
“So, where are we going?” I try again.
He merely shakes his head. “We’re almost there.”
“I bet the time will go a lot faster if you tell me where we’re going and why you’re taking me there.”
“You said you wanted to know more about me.”
I did. After our shower session, I made Dae give me a tour of his massive home, which he did willingly. It’s stunning, and so many rooms have natural lighting, which is something I crave.
When I told him I wanted to know more, he stared at me for a while and then told me to get dressed so he could take me somewhere special. He made a few phone calls and refused to allow me to overhear. Now, we’re on our way to where only he and God know.
I’m this close to telling him that the ten minutes he said we had until arrival are almost up when he pulls into a parking lot.
“The Williamsport Aquarium?” I look over at him, the confusion on my face apparent.
He nods and then gets out. I watch him round the front of the car to come and open my door for me.
“A man should always open your car door for you.”
The words of my father penetrate my mind. I remember thinking that was ridiculous as I got older. "I’m perfectly capable of opening a car door,” are the words I’d tell my father.
