“Yeah, there’s a door. I thought it was a restroom for the girls since there were no buckets in the room.” Oz sighed, looking at the video.
“Let’s go talk to Katrina.” Diesel decided looking over at Duong.
“No hard core questioning. Simple questions to get basic answers.” Duong advised, rubbing her hands up and down her legs as she stood up from her chair. “She’s a tough one, that’s for sure. She’s been abused pretty badly. Not sure which one of the asshats we have, if we have him, hurt her the way they did. I’m surprised she’s survived this long.”
“I want Pratt and York with me. Let’s see what she knows and then go from there. Show, I want you and the others to get Blu ready for interrogation. Have the boys help you if he wants to act out. Total humiliation tactics for now. These men hate women. Let’s give them a reason to truly hate us. They are going to be cocky in their answers and reactions. I want us to do the interrogations. Their cockiness will be their downfall.”
Viper watched as Diesel took control of what needed to be done. He glanced quickly over at the captain, who sat back on the couch with a smirk on her face, one leg crossed over the other, and pretended to examine her nails. When he looked back at the captain, after doing a quick glance at Diesel, the captain winked at him as if she could read his mind.
“Babe?”
Viper looked over at the female voice talking to him to see Diesel looking at him as if something was wrong. “What’s wrong?”
“I asked you a question twice and you didn’t respond.”
“Shit! Sorry. Lost in my own world at the moment. What’s up?” Viper asked, standing up to get ready for whatever she needed of him.
“Will you join us? Maybe stand at the doorway while we talk to her? You might catch something we won’t.”
Viper looked at Diesel for several seconds, trying to figure out her train of thought. He realized then what she was thinking. They would all be in the frame of thought that would have them solely focused on finding Raven. He could notice any cues they may miss as an outsider looking in. Nodding his agreement, he followed the three women to the room they had set Katrina up in.
They didn’t bother to knock. They decided Pratt and York would walk in first, followed by Viper then Diesel. They wanted to see what her reaction would be seeing Diesel as she walked into the room. They knew from the photos of Raven that the two were spitting images.
“What? Come to cause more damage?”
“Nah. They’ve already done enough.” Pratt quipped before side stepping to let the others into the room.
“We’re going to give you a few choices.” York commented as she walked in behind Pratt, going to the other side to let Viper and Diesel in.
“Oh yeah? What’s that?” Katrina sneered, letting the sarcasm slip in her voice.
“Tell me what I want to k now about Raven’s disappearance. Where she is and why the fuck you turned my daughter over to the fuckers that you did?” Diesel said, her voice low and dark as she stepped out from behind Viper.
“Holy fuck! You look just like her!” Katrina whispered loudly.
“Technically, Katrina, she looks like me since I gave birth to her. Thanks to you, I may never know if she’s got my attitude or not. So, please tell me what I want to know so that I can find her and not have to kill you myself for putting her in the danger that you did.”
There it was. Viper had to hide his chuckle because he was starting to worry about his wife. She was being too sweet and polite. Hell, she even said please, and that alone scared him. Then she made her threat and all he could do was mentally say, “there she is.”
“Damn, she was scaring me there for a minute.” Pratt shivered as she looked over at York.
“Glad it wasn’t just me. She’s never polite to dipshits who put others in harm’s way. There’s a reason we let her do the interrogations. If I were you Katrina, I’d take the politeness and be scared as fuck. She’s never nice.”
“I nearly pissed my pants. I’m the one who sleeps next to her at night.” Viper couldn’t resist the comment, joining in with York and Pratt.
“And if I don’t?” Katrina hesitated in her question.
“Then me and my two female friends here can play rock, paper, scissors on what we decide next. I can wake up one of the boys we have to interrogate to come in and finish what they started with you. I can be a real major bitch and let Symon finish you. Really no skin off my ass. When they are done, if you’re still alive, then I can turn you over to the LAPD and let them know the charges we have against you. Make sure the paperwork for protective custody gets lost and you wind up in gen pop. Once you show up in gen pop, we can let all the inmates you’re housed with know what you’ve done to someone’s daughter. Several people’s daughter in fact. And then let them finish you. It’ll be a tossup which one is the worst. Symon’s men, Symon, or female inmates who are mothers, daughters and sisters.” Diesel advised, walking further into the room, stopping by the bed that Katrina was lying on.
Viper couldn’t help but shiver at the words coming out of Diesel’s mouth. He knew she wouldn’t let Symon’s men or Symon to hurt the girl again, but she painted a really scary image. He couldn’t’ help but believe every word coming out of her mouth right now. She wasn’t acting like a cop anymore. She was a hard-core mother whose baby was hurt and in danger. She was more dangerous than the most venomous snake on the planet right now. A very dangerous place to be for anyone who tried to step in the way.
“You…can’t…you’re…” Katrina stammered, fear taking control.
“I can. I will. You’ve been assisting Symon in taking girls for months now. Your fatal mistake was including my daughter in that scenario. All bets are off the table. What happens to you right now is your choice. You refuse to cooperate with me and my team, I choose which way to go. You cooperate, I make sure you get the help you need to heal from what was done to you. I also make sure you go into protective custody and maybe, just maybe, depending on how much you help, talk to the DA to get you a plea deal. Choice is yours.”
Viper couldn’t help but be proud of Diesel. He knew from the time he spent with her before all this went down that she kept a large part of herself hidden. She was always goofy, quirky, funny and fun to goad. She always had the perfect comeback to his comments. Those who considered her family fiercely loved and protected her. She just never realized it, until now.
Now she was coming out of her shell. She was fierce. She was powerful. She was sexy as fuck. She was dangerous. Not someone you wanted to get on their bad side if you harmed someone she loved or called family. She was someone you should fear.
