“Fuck! Cheryl!” Viper’s vision blurred as he came harder than he has ever came since the day he lost his virginity at the age of fourteen to a girl he crushed on that was a senior in high school.

Both of them slid down the wall, their breaths panting in and out. Viper laid down on his back, Diesel laying sprawled out on top. “Give me a few moments and then we can get round three going.”

Viper chuckled at her mumbled statement against his chest, wrapping his arms around her. “Let me up so I can grab us some water. I think I have just enough energy to find the kitchen. We both need to hydrate for the next several rounds.

FIVE

Diesel walked into the department the next day, still sore and tender in areas she didn’t know she had. She lost count of how many times Viper had made her scream his name last night after round three. She realized then that the man was insatiable in the sack.

Once she had been able to move, they’d gone into the kitchen to get a bottle of water. Once they had hydrated just a little, Viper had used the cold-water bottle to get round three started. Round three was in the kitchen. Round four was in the living room. Rounds five and six finally made it to the bedroom. Round seven happened in the shower, or was that nine or ten?

Very little sleep happened last night. So many men had bragged and claimed they could handle a woman like her, but holy shit, Viper was the first man who’s ever been able to handle her demands, her needs and literally manhandled her the way she secretly liked in the bedroom. He was definitely going to be a tough act to follow. She knew he wasn’t looking for a relationship and she couldn’t allow a relationship right now.

Especially not with her past getting ready to catch up with her. They’d only been home from Colorado several months so far and thank goodness no rumblings have come about. The team has pretty much left her alone about her disappearing. Last night was the first time she hasn’t had a nightmare since coming back from Colorado. Nightmares that had been held at bay for years, now suddenly back thanks to the rescue operation they did in Colorado. Fucking Opie. His ass better be glad she loved him like a brother.

Diesel picked up her ringing cell phone and nearly lost her breath at the number on the screen. Walking out of the room, she answered it, nearly falling to the floor at the news she had just gotten. After hanging up the phone, Diesel went to the captain’s office and stated she needed to take a personal day due to not feeling good then rushed home. Diesel spent the day making phone call after phone call to get answers.

Pratt went to answer the door when she heard knocking on the front. When she opened it, she noticed Raso and Marcus standing on the front porch. “Um, hey guys, what are you doing here?”

“Diez said everyone was meeting here.” Raso replied, confused at the question.

“What meeting?” Pratt asked, looking over at her husband in confusion. “I didn’t know we had planned a get together tonight.”

“Yeah. She even requested that I have Marcus here with me and asked if I knew if Highlander was home. The captain, sarge and the rest of the team are on their way over also. Did you not get the text?” Raso asked as she pulled out her phone to show Pratt the text messages from Diesel.

“No. That’s weird. Babe, did you get a text?” Pratt asked, looking over at her husband with Raso’s phone in her hand.

“No, sorry lass.” Highlander answered, shaking his head.

“Um, Marcus, why don’t you and Ty go with Highlander into the kitchen. He was helping the kids do their homework while I got the baby down. Linds, you want to put the little one down in the playpen or in the crib with Aurora? Let’s try to get ahold of Diesel.”

Marcus carried their travel playpen into the baby’s room before kissing his wife as he left the room. Raso dealt with getting Isabella down for a nap while Pratt dealt with Aurora. Marcus and Ty joined Highlander in the kitchen to help Cody, Willie and Ryleigh with their homework.

While everyone stayed busy with their little things, Pratt kept trying to reach Diesel in between letting her teammates and her captain into the house. Each was just as confused as the other when they found out that Diesel hadn’t arrived yet, but had stated everyone was getting together at Pratt’s house.

Since everyone started arriving around dinner time, Highlander decided to order pizza and drinks for everyone while they waited for Diesel who was still not answering her phone, for anyone. Marcus even went as far as to reach out to Viper to see if maybe he had seen or heard from her since he knew that Viper had followed Diesel home last night from their place.

Everyone was confused, frustrated and worried since she wasn’t answering her phone, and was the one who set up the get together, yet she wasn’t even present. Worry seemed to have won out since everyone agreed that Diesel never asked for anyone to get together. She never asked for anything.

Once the pizza arrived, the adults made sure the kids had their plates before they considered even getting theirs. None of the adults really could consider eating at the moment. Captain Irby was pulling her phone out to contact dispatch to have a search party check Diesel’s route from home to Pratt’s when a knock sounded on the door.

When Marcus answered the door, he had to do a double take when he realized it was Diesel on the doorstep looking disheveled and out of sorts. Pulling her into the house, he pulled her into a hug, murmuring in her ear. They watched as she slightly nodded her head.

“Auntie Diez!” Ryleigh MacLeod yelled out, running out of the kitchen and into Diesel’s arms.

The team watched as Diesel got down to the little girl’s level and hugged her. They noticed Diesel slightly turn her face into the little girl’s hair, holding on far longer than she normally would.

When she let Ryleigh go, she smiled as she stood up and looked around the room. Her teammates all looked at each other, confusion and worry warring within each of them. This wasn’t their Diesel. Something was seriously wrong.

“Cody. Why don’t ye and Ty take ye siblings into the ye room and play ye video games, aye?” Highlander asked, not taking his eyes off of Diesel.

It wasn’t lost on the team when Cody looked over at his honorary aunt in worry. He walked over and gave her a hug before whispering that he loved her before he herded his siblings and Ty into his room.

“Lass, are ye ok?” Highlander asked as he handed Diesel a juice glass with two fingers of scotch in it.

Diesel took the glass and downed the contents without a thought. Once she finished her coughing from the burn, she stated “If you’d have had real whiskey, that would be better.”

“Detective, are you ok? You left early today stating you weren’t feeling good. You sent a mass text requesting a get together and stated that Pratt was hosting yet you weren’t here. What’s going on?” Captain Irby demanded, walking towards Diesel, concern in her voice.
