Page 46 of Only Ever You

Brushing my fingers down his face, I smile. “Maybe I could be persuaded …”

His furrowed brow straightens out, and he narrows his gaze at me. “Are you playing with me?”

“Not yet.” My smile widens, and he tilts his head slightly.

“Such a tease.”

He leaps off the couch and before I know it, he’s plucked me up and into his arms. I let out a squeal, and he laughs. “You’re all mine now.”

“I don’t think I’ve ever laughed as much in my life as I have with you.”

His tender kiss makes me swoon.

“Just shows how compatible we really are.”

He carries me into the bedroom before swinging me round and dumping me unceremoniously on the bed as I continue laughing.

“You have no finesse,” I say. “You’re no book hero.”

His eyebrows rise. “We’ll see about that. Race you to get naked.”

I squeal and laugh, peeling my shirt over my head. This is one race I’m not about to lose. I’ve got no buttons, and he groans as his shirt slows him down.

But before Deacon sees me naked, I dive under the covers and pull them up to my neck.

He slows, his pants halfway down his legs. “That’s not fair.”

“Life isn’t fair.”

He chuckles, stripping his pants and boxers off and climbing into bed with me.

After rolling over top of me, he settles between my legs, his hard cock pressed against my thigh.

“So, what did you have planned?” I drape my arms over his shoulders.

“You, me, a lot of foreplay.”

I laugh as he dives under the covers and gasp when his tongue hits my clit. I’ve never known a man to enjoy going down on me the way he does, and he’s voracious with it.

I’m not complaining.

I’m also not complaining when he slides inside me, takes my hands, and raises them over my head, pinning me down while he kisses my lips and then my breasts. Deacon always knows just how to touch me and to make me feel wanted and needed.

Afterward, I lay in his arms and nuzzle his chest.

“What are you reading?” he asks.

I smile to myself. “That’s a random question.”

“What is it that you like about those books so much?”

I turn toward him. One of the things I love most about Deacon is that he takes an interest in everything I do. Doesn’t matter how mismatched it might be with his interests, he’s right there for mine.

“I travel the world without ever leaving home.”

His lips twitch. “Do you want to travel?”

“Some day.”
