“I can’t wait to tell Delaney.”
He walks to the car and opens the passenger door. “Let me drive you there right now.”
I laugh. “You really are an egg.”
It doesn’t stop me from climbing back into the car, and we drive the ridiculously short distance back to Josh and Delaney’s house.
I head inside and up to the living room where Josh is on the couch with Melly.
“Where’s Delaney?” I ask.
“In the bedroom. Addison’s having a nap, so Delaney went for some quiet time. I think she’s just watching TV if you want to look in on her,” Josh says.
“Thanks.”
I walk along the hallway to their bedroom, knock on the door, and then push it open.
Delaney’s lying on the bed, watching TV with a packet of potato chips beside her.
“A woman after my own heart.”
She laughs. “Come and share these. There are plenty.”
I climb up onto the bed beside her and lie on Josh’s pillow.
“Where did you two go?”
I pluck a chip out of the bag. “We went to look at a house. Reece is going to make an offer on it.”
She turns to look at me, her mouth open. “No.”
“Yes. It’s right across the road.”
Delaney laughs. “No way.”
I nod. “He just wanted me to take a look before he decided. And it’s perfect. He said he wanted to get somewhere close so it’d be easy for me to visit you if he goes away.”
“Aww. That’s so sweet.”
“And then the real estate agent heard our conversation and asked if I was Pania Wilson who designed your wedding dress.”
Delaney’s mouth falls open again. “I think I just did a little wee with excitement.”
“She wants me to design her wedding dress. Thank God Reece was there because I was a bit of a mess.”
“Are you going to do it?”
I take a deep breath. “I guess it depends on what she wants and when the wedding is. I don’t have a clue about how much to charge or anything yet. That was something that was always down the road.”
She puffs up her hair with the palm of her hand. “I’m sure your manager will be able to work on that.”
I laugh. “You’re the best manager a girl could have.”
Delaney grabs my arm. “I’m so proud of you. And I’m so glad my body could be of service to you.”
“Ahem.”
We both look up to see Josh standing in the doorway. He holds up his hands. “I’m not even going to ask what that was about.”
