We walk hand in hand out of the set doors to find our friends waiting by Cassie’s car.

“So, your movie, huh?” Tyler walks up to me and gives me a hug.

“It appears that way.” I smile.

We walk a few steps over to the rest of the group. Everyone comes up to me to congratulate me on my career change, the movie, Cassie. It’s a lot. I didn’t expect to become an emotional person today, but having formed my own chosen family, I have a lot to be grateful for.

Three months ago, I didn't know where my life was headed. Then one evening, a little sassy woman by the name of Cassie flipped my world upside down. All it took was one look from her and I knew I was a goner.

I shift my gaze toward her, taking in her presence. She’s deep in conversation with Marcy. They’re talking about something, their laughter bubbling up and filling the silence.

Walking over to her, I lean in close, my lips almost brushing against her ear as I whisper softly, “Let’s go, Sass. We have a date to get to.”

A warm smile spreads across her face.

We say goodbye to everyone and get into Cassie’s car. I settle into the driver’s seat and reach over to gently rest my hand on her thigh.

We pull out of the parking lot and I can see the sign of the diner flickering in the distance, inviting us in for a meal.

“We’re here,” I say and look over at her.

Cassie's gaze finds mine, and I am drawn into the depths of her piercing blue eyes.

The diner is the place where we began. We didn’t quite know where our relationship would end up, but I knew from meeting her I couldn’t let her go. The pull between us was too great to ignore. I know she feels the same way based on the way she's looking at me, her gaze filled with unspoken emotions.

What started as a friendship blossomed into something neither of us saw coming. The tension between us kept escalating, like a rubber band stretched to its breaking point, until it finally snapped. Now, it is impossible for either of us to dream up a life that doesn’t include the other.

The girl who was once an extra has become a permanent character in my life story, and I've fallen in love with her.

I gently grasp her hand and bring it to my lips, planting a soft kiss on her palm.

“Let’s do this, shall we?”

With a playful grin, she leans over the middle console, her lips gently brushing against mine.

“Let’s.”

Epilogue: Cassie

TWO YEARS LATER

“Cassie, you have 10 more minutes before we leave,” Emmett calls from down the hall. I stand in the bathroom and stare at my reflection in the mirror, making sure every detail on my face is perfect.

It’s been two years since we announced Emmett’s movie, our movie, to the world. After filming A Little Bit Extra, we took a month's break to do some traveling before my next project. I accepted a role in the next movie being filmed at January Studios, wanting to stay there as long as I could. Working there as an actress has been a dream, and they have a wide range of films, which is great because I get to have a resume of movies from different genres.

Emmett has written a few more scripts that are in the works to be produced. January Studios now exclusively consults Emmett when a new movie wants to use their set to film. He’s gone back to acting in some minor roles, but only if he genuinely wants to.

We have our movie premiere tonight, and it’ll be the first red carpet I’ve been able to be on.

“Cassie, seriously, we need to go. The car is—damn, Sass, you look beautiful.” I turn around to see Emmett staring at me.

I’m wearing a dark blue, floor-length dress. A slit runs up the right leg, which is honestly my favorite part. I have meticulously styled my hair, using several bobby pins to secure it, and deliberately leaving certain strands to frame my face. For my makeup, I've gone for a natural look, but I couldn't resist adding a pop of color with a bold red lip. It’s become my go-to as of late.

I lean against the bathroom counter and look at Emmett. Starting at his shoes, I trail my gaze upward. To complement my dress, he has chosen to wear a pair of dark blue pants paired with a white button-up shirt, leaving the top two buttons unfastened. He looks incredibly handsome.

“Enjoying the view?” He smirks.
