Page 44 of The Pain We Nurture

His dick twitched with excitement and his breathing became slightly labored as he watched her eyes widen like saucers when she got the full magnitude of his property.

Damn, the fucker was worth every bit of twelve million for this look on her face, he thought, seeing her breathing change as well, the closer they advanced to the home. She was excited.

Colin parked the car out front efficiently next to the outdoor driveway fountain and hopped out fluidly. Walking around to her door and opening it. He stared enraptured at her as she slowly looked from the front of the house to his hand, as if she was in a trance she couldn’t shake.

Olivia placed her hand softly in his, and he let out a nervous breath when she stepped gracefully out of the car without any fuss. She craned her neck back to look at the expansive tall white home, that was trimmed with black windows, and had a huge double door entrance of glass. Most of the home was glass and stone, but tastefully so.

He took the opportunity to admire the curve of her neck, seeing the light blue vein just under her jawline. His dick hardened impossibly further, wondering if she would like for him to nibble at that spot, if she would be turned on by him sucking at the vulnerable flesh there.

Colin desired for her to enjoy this arrangement, just as much as he planned to. And he began to scheme, to find out what made her tick, what turned her on. Unbeknownst to her, he hadn’t planned on unleashing himself on her right away. He really wasn’t a monster like he suspected she might think he was, despite how the contract read. Truly wanting for this to be mutually beneficial in more ways than one. He wanted her to enjoy every aspect of her new life.

Even the pain he brought her sexually, he’d just have to tread carefully.

Olivia licked her lips, regarding what was to be her home for two and a half years, according to the contract. She tried to open her mouth to speak, but nothing came from her lips, not able to find the words. Curiously, her eyes flicked back and forth, finding something new to pause and focus on with every pass.

“Your landscaping is….is,” Olivia tried.

Colin smiled kindly at her struggle, remembering hiring the landscaping company initially, and then the absolute glee he'd felt putting them on payroll.

Colin almost wished he could turn them around and start all over from the beginning so he could better appreciate the experience of her seeing it all over again. There were so many nuances to be found within her expression, within her gaze. Her wonder.

Running a rough hand through his hair Colin admitted to himself that he wanted her to look at him like that, to see him and have the same exact overwhelming expression on her face.

He thought he’d might feel joy then, she seemed to be the closest he’d ever felt to the emotion.

As they walked into the front, he handed over her purse before taking her soft hand and leading her up the stairs. He rubbed her fingers encouragingly with his thumb, feeling her slight trembling. He looked down in curiosity at the box within her other hand, seeing she held it clutched tightly to her stomach.

Olivia paused as Colin took the keys and opened the front door, opening the glass doors wide for her.

She turned for a split second, looking over her shoulder at the expansive yard, as if she was looking for something nostalgic and familiar to rest her eyes on. He knew there was nothing. Just beautiful roses boxed in with bushes, fountains, and pretty trees and other flowering bushes.

Olivia's breath audibly hitched as he placed his hand on her lower back again to get her attention, and she raised those startling green eyes to his again. Once more he found himself losing himself in her, drawn to her like the same night he saw her through the diner window.

Not quiet able to speak yet, he swallowed hard as he jerked his head towards the foyer, his eyes crinkled slightly, and he indicated for Olivia to go inside before him. She took the first step into his home, and he heard her take a deep breath as the smell of lemon chicken assaulted her senses as she crossed the threshold into the foyer.

Her head tilted way back as she looked around, taking in the pretty buttery foyer. Noting the all dark uniquely planked wooden floors flanked by the gorgeous double staircase leading to the upper house. In between the staircases hung an incredible crystal chandelier.

It cost him exactly eight hundred thousand dollars.

An enormous bouquet of dark pink earth angel roses graced the table in the middle. She looked to the left, seeing a lovely library room that he remembered costing a ton of money to build, as well as a formal dining room to the right with two tastefully large sideboards on the opposite wall. The colors in the home were so rich, it was homey, and not stark at all. He couldn’t have lived in this house if he didn’t make it warm.

Colin fondly remembered the day he sat down with the first interior designer when he built the home. She didn’t get a sense of what he wanted for the home at all, so he fired her after too many attempts at her trying to make the house modern instead of what he wanted.

He turned his head from Olivia as Mary, a dark brown haired, middle-aged Spanish American woman strode towards them from the back out the house. He smiled fondly at the house manager who doubled as his mother figure.

“Mr. McDermont, how are you? And you, miss?” Mary greeted them in her elegant Spanish accent. Her heels clicked rapidly as she took the last steps towards them through the foyer, taking off her apron and presenting a smart, polished outfit.

Colin smiled, feeling immediately more settled in her presence, and greeted the woman warmly with a chaste kiss on her cocoa-colored cheek before stepping aside to introduce Olivia. He found himself suddenly tense, worried at how Mary would like Olivia as he’d never brought another woman home before. It hit him by suprise that he felt a vicious pang in his chest. Wishing that he could tell his mother Elena about her. He supposed Mary was a more than suitable replacement, not that anyone would ever replace his ma.

He turned back to Olivia, seeing her smile broadly at Mary. His momentary sadness dissipated as her beautiful smile hit him full force. He cleared his throat softly.

“Mary, this is Olivia. She’ll be staying with me for the foreseeable future. Olivia, this is Mary. She’s my house manager.”

“Mijo, don’t forget the cook as well, huh?” the older woman’s eyes sparkled as she teased Colin.

Mary smiled kindly at Olivia, her eyes crinkling at the edges as she held her hand out to gently shake hers.

“It’s so wonderful to meet you! You’re so pretty, and your accent is so beautiful!” Olivia gushed, she walked another step towards Mary, betraying the pain in her arm.
