Jesse had watched a lot of movies over the years, but he didn’t recall one called Outlander. “Do you mean the television show?”
She nodded.
“No. I’ve heard about it, but I haven’t seen it.”
“It’s soooo good. Jamie is just…” Cassie sighed.
The dreamy look in her eyes amused him. “Do I need to be jealous?” He’d never been jealous before, and it felt strange to think it might happen over a fictional character.
Cassie ran her hand over Jesse’s chest. “He’s not real. Or his character isn’t. You, on the other hand…”
She gazed up at him with a glint in her eye that had his cock twitching.
He kissed the tip of her nose and reached for the remote. It took him several minutes to locate Outlander on the screen. He clicked on it and was shocked to see there were multiple seasons. “What season are you on?”
“No, we have to start from the beginning. You won’t understand the story otherwise,” she said. “I don’t mind watching it again.”
Nodding, he clicked on season one, episode one, and hit play.
Three hours later, Jesse found himself as enchanted by the story as she was. He was realizing what all the hype was about. It had everything. Action. Adventure. Romance. Time travel. And so many twists and turns he was trying to keep up with them all.
Cassie was tucked against him, her naked body warm against his. He’d draped the blanket over them, creating a cozy bubble as they binged on the show. It was the most relaxed he could ever remember being and he could see himself repeating this day with her for the rest of their lives.
He glanced at the clock and was shocked to see it was after one. “Are you getting hungry?”
“A little.” She tore her gaze away from the screen to look at him. “I can wait, though.”
Hitting pause on the show, Jesse climbed off the couch and went to get his phone. While he enjoyed cooking, he was also a foodie. He loved trying new restaurants, which meant he had an extensive knowledge of what was good in the area.
It took him all of five minutes to order their lunch and arrange for it to be delivered. Once that was done, he returned to his position on the couch. He picked up the remote and pressed play.
Cassie continued to stare at him.
He pressed pause again and raised his eyebrows in question.
“You didn’t ask me what I wanted.”
“No.”
“What if I don’t like what you ordered?” she asked.
“I ordered a variety of options. I’m confident you’ll find something.” He’d ordered enough food for the entire weekend, should they need it. If he were honest, he wanted to stay in the condo and block out the outside world for as long as possible.
She looked at him for several more moments, then rolled to face the television.
“Is that a problem?”
“No.” She paused for a long moment. “I’m not used to people ordering for me without asking me first.”
This didn’t have anything to do with their sexual relationship, so it didn’t necessarily fall under the Dominant/submissive arrangement. He liked taking care of her, and making sure she was fed was part of that, but he could see where it might be an adjustment for her.
“Do you not want me to order for you in the future?” He was hoping she wouldn’t say yes because he wasn’t sure he could agree to that.
She rolled back to face him. “You like ordering for me.”
“I do.”
The crease in Cassie’s brow became more pronounced as she considered the situation. “How about this, when we’re here, you can order for me.” She paused. “As long as I don’t have to eat anything I don’t like.” She scrunched up her nose. “No crazy stuff.”
