“I belong to you.”
He took hold of her hips again, digging his fingers into her skin. “And you won’t put yourself in danger again.”
It wasn’t a question, but she answered anyway. “No, Sir. I won’t put myself in danger again.”
Jesse kissed her hard, using one hand to hold her head in place while the other guided their movements. He was lifting his hips at the same time he was driving hers downward, their bodies crashing into one another.
Cassie felt her climax building. She hoped he wouldn’t leave her hanging again, but she had no way of knowing. His mouth dominated hers, taking it to the point she could barely breathe.
A deep rumble vibrated from his chest right before he stiffened. She whimpered, knowing he’d climaxed and fearing he was going to leave her wanting again. Then she felt his thumb on her clit. “Come.”
His sharp command was all it took. Her body had been coiled tight from all the teasing he’d done throughout the day, and it burst with so much force it was almost painful. She cried out, digging her fingernails into his shoulders as her orgasm rocked through her.
Jesse covered her mouth with his, capturing her scream. Pleasure rippled through her, seeming to go on and on.
He held her tight until her orgasm had subsided. She buried her face in his neck, trying to regulate her breathing again. Her body was coated with sweat, and now that she wasn’t frantic with need, she was getting cold.
As if reading her mind, Jesse stood. She wrapped her legs around him, not caring where they were going, just knowing she didn’t want to let go of him.
They ended up in his bathroom. He turned on the shower, not releasing her, and waited for the water to heat before carrying her inside. “Baby, I need to get rid of the condom. Put your feet down on the tile.”
She let her legs fall, but she didn’t release him.
Jesse chuckled as he untangled her arms from around his neck. He gave her a kiss. “Two seconds.”
He left her in the shower so he could dispose of the condom and his clothes. A few seconds later, he was back. He pulled her into his arms, crushing her against him.
His hands were gentle against her skin as he washed her. He kissed her neck, her shoulder, her lips. She felt cared for and loved.
She looked up at him, knowing this was the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. “I love you.”
Jesse brought their mouths together for another lingering kiss. “I love you, too, baby. Always.”
EPILOGUE
Two weeks later, Jesse sat at his parents’ dining room table, Cassie next to him, waiting for his father to read the results of the DNA test.
So much had happened over the last two weeks. Grayson, Crystal, and Sandy were arrested. They’d thought maybe Shannon was involved as well, but Craig determined her only crime was that she liked office gossip.
The missing contract was never located. They did find the extra inventory, however. Or the credit generated from the extra inventory. It had landed in Crystal’s bank account not long before the code first appeared in their software.
There were still a lot of unanswered questions, and he wasn’t sure they were ever going to get the whole story. Not unless Crystal, Grayson, or Sandy decided to share.
His dad was at the head of the table. His mom sat next to him, looking every bit the wife of a wealthy businessman.
She hadn’t said much since this whole thing with Crystal began to unfold. It was almost as if she’d resigned herself to whatever happened.
Jesse didn’t like it, but there wasn’t much he could do.
He and his father weren’t on the best of terms. They spoke but kept their conversations brief and focused on work-related items.
Beks sat across from Jesse, her arms crossed. She wasn’t taking the news of their father’s infidelity any better than he was.
His dad’s best friend, Cole, was also in attendance. The man was like a brother to their dad, so it wasn’t strange having him there. Beks, however, seemed to be bothered by his presence. She kept shooting him glances. Or maybe they’d be better described as death glares.
Granted, Beks didn’t know Cole as well as Jesse did. He’d moved out of state when she was a baby, only returning for brief visits. She never really viewed him as an uncle figure like Jesse did. Still, her reaction to him struck Jesse as odd. To his knowledge, she’d never had an issue with Cole before.
Craig slipped in through the side door, closing it behind him.
