“You better not have fucking seen it!”
“I'm sorry, did I say see it? I meant heard it.” I rolled my eyes at this and took the bags of shopping off him.
“Well as much as we appreciate the food, Red already took it upon herself to sneak out of my bed and play hunter gatherer,” I responded bitterly, still fucking furious with this fact.
“Oh shit, I bet that went down well,” he replied sarcastically, and my dark look told him everything, but then I decided to add,
“Why do you think we were fucking on the couch?”
“Ah, good old make up sex, gotcha. Well, I suppose Cookie really does know you.” I rolled my eyes at this before confessing,
“I admit, it helped calm me down some.” He laughed at that and replied,
“Yeah, I just bet it did.”
“Anyway, enough of being a wise ass dickhead and just tell me, anything to report?” I asked, needing to get off the conversation of fucking my girl or my hard on would never piss off.
“What, you mean other than Marcus discovering that his new favorite pastime is showing Asher every porn site he can find? Should have seen that poor bastard in the car, thought it was going to sprout wings and fucking take off.” I had to laugh at that.
“I'm sure it will take some adjusting on his side.”
“Guy’s like a bloody puppy, you should have seen him trying pizza for the first time, I thought the guy was going to need a wank.” This time I burst out laughing before adding,
“Well, I'm just surprised Marcus hasn't really fucked up and got him a mortal call girl to play with.”
“Hence why I don't think I should be here for long.” I had to agree with him there.
“Probably a good call… fuck only knows what you'll walk back into.”
“Well, he did think the TV was the work of the Devil, hence why he was still watching it when I left.” Gods, but I could only imagine what it was like for the poor bastard. Hell wasn’t exactly known for its technical advances. Fuck, but it was like being back in the Middle Ages and waking up in modern day. Talk about head fuck.
“I gather you called the men?” I asked, now steering the conversation back to more important shit.
“They are on their way here as we speak, now just what the plan is when they get here, I have no clue,” he replied as a hint to get me to share. The problem with that was that I had fuck all to share. Hence why I told him,
“You and me both, but I'm hoping we'll know more after the Table of Kings meeting.” Of course, my brother didn’t miss a thing.
“What is it…? Oh come on, I know that look,” he pressed, making me release a sigh before looking up the stairs to check Ella was still in the shower and not snooping like she tended to do. Then when I was assured she wasn’t eavesdropping, I told him,
“I don't know, it was just Dom’s face when we were talking about Ella now being a Summoner.”
“Yeah and?” he asked, making me raise a brow at him.
“I just feel like he knows something. In fact, I'm surprised you didn't pick up on it,” I told him, making him scoff.
“Yeah, well you can blame that fucking gorgeous Imp for that, I was too afraid that her husband would catch her eye fucking me, well, that was until she caught sight of Asher… poor bastard.” I couldn’t help but laugh at that, as quite honestly, I didn’t know how her husband coped with half her antics, and that wasn’t including the crazy half.
“Yeah, well I hope you warned him of who her husband is,” I said, thinking I really liked Asher and didn’t want his first week here to come to abrupt end with his head being offered as a gift to Abaddon’s wife.
“Yes, well unlike Pencil Dick, I actually had useful information to tell him, namely whom not to fuck with.” I chuckled at that.
“So, what are you gonna do, are you gonna confront him?” he asked.
I knew he was talking about Dom again, and I had to confess it was a tricky situation. I didn't exactly want to piss off the King of Kings. No, not now I knew that I would need his help. Because as much as I wanted to keep the hard fact from Ella, I knew that this was far from over. Geryon wouldn't stop and even after getting Niniane out of the way, it honestly felt more like the beginning than the end I wished it to be.
“Not right now, not until after I have heard all he has to say at the meeting. Something is coming, brother, and we all have to be ready for it, even the King of Kings.”
“When is it not fucking coming?” I sighed at that, as he was right. Because lately it simply felt like one fucking thing after another.
