I turn back to Adam who’s watching the exchange with amusement, but not a hint of suspicion. “Go ahead,” my brother says. “Can we get breakfast tomorrow before I fly out?”

“Sure,” I tell him. “Text me.”

“And think about what I said.”

“I will.” I stand up, and Jade grins at me before turning to head up the lawn. I follow him. I have to pass Olivia on the way in. She’s giving me an urgent look that reads—I thought we were leaving.

I nod at her. “Give me five minutes. I’m gonna change out his septum ring for him.”

She grimaces, rolls her eyes, and turns back to the group of gay men she’s stuck with, pasting a plastic smile on her face. Jade is already in the house, moving quickly through the kitchen, and rushing up the stairs.

“Where are we going?” I ask, following him.

“Gideon’s bathroom has the best light. You said you needed light, right?”

“You don’t think he’ll care that we’re invading his space?”

“How’s he gonna know?” Jade tosses back.

This is exactly what I need. To get myself into an enclosed space with Jade where the lighting is good, and he’s got his shirt off already. I’m hard just thinking about it, which makes the walk upstairs incredibly uncomfortable. Piercings add a lot of friction, and it’s not altogether unpleasant, except for when it’s unwelcome and inconvenient. Like now.

Gideon’s bedroom is massive, and it overlooks the backyard where the party is ongoing. Jade doesn’t flip on the overhead light, instead going straight for the bathroom where he flips all the switches, bathing the room in light so bright it’s like being right next to the sun.

“Better?” he asks.

“Yeah,” I mumble.

He hops up on the bathroom counter, thighs spread, and looks at me. His cunning gaze is like a dare. In his hand, he holds out the new nose ring for me to take. As I swipe it from his open palm, he says, “Saw you watching me.”

“And?”

“You know I don’t belong to you, right?”

“No one said you did.” I move between his thighs and touch just beneath his chin to make him tilt his head back. He does. “This is a dumb move. You could get an infection.”

“I just want to try it on.”

“So, you want me to put it in, let you take some pictures, and then take it out again?”

“Something like that.”

“Liv’s waiting for me.”

He snorts. “She’s a fucking delight by the way.”

“Fuck off,” I tell him, reaching into his nose to remove the piercing. Once it’s out, he looks at me again. He’s at eye level like this, which means quite a few of our body parts are aligned. Noses, mouths, cocks…

“Mm… Someone’s in a mood,” he teases.

“Someone can’t stop thinking about wanting to suck your cock.”

Jade’s brow lifts and so does one corner of his mouth. “Someone better get to work then because someone else is waiting for him.”

“No charge?” I ask, resting my hands on his thighs.

“On the house,” he answers, breathlessly.

Our mouths are on each other’s in less than a heartbeat, hot heavy breaths filling the bubble around us as I work open the fly of his ugly jeans. He pulls his cock out of the neon speedo thing he’s got on underneath, and I stare at it as drool gathers in my cheeks. “Fuck, you’re hard.”
