“You feel the air being sucked from your lungs. Fucking fight me Jade. Get the fuck up and kill me like you promised. Give me your fire, Kitten.” Her eyes widen and she punches him in the gut.?

“Again! Make it hurt. You are worth it.” He squeezes harder, and she kicks him in the nuts and hits him with a two piece to the face. Well, fuck, there she is. He immediately let’s go of her throat and drops to his knees.?

“Good girl,” he says breathlessly as he cups his nuts, smirking.?

“What the fuck is going on? We need to go, cut the fucking shit,” Jay says through gritted teeth.?

“Our girl forgot who the fuck she was for a second, so Ri stepped in and did what he does best.” I chuckle. Jay growls. I turn to Jade, pushing her against the wall.?

“I’ll say this once and one time only. They will not touch you; you are going nowhere without us. I will die to protect you. Now let’s go hunting, then we can play with Jay.” I wiggle my eyes and she rolls hers.?

“I know you said we can’t go to your house, but we have to. It’s carving season and I will do what needs to be done to keep you safe.” He clarifies looking at Jade. She nods and spins on Ri. “Are we all on the same page now?” He shouldn’t ever have to question where my loyalties stand.?

“I’m here, right? I won’t let anything happen to her.” He says.

“Are you sure? Because we are going against the Russian army. There’s no half in, half out.” He raises his brow at Ri.

“Just because I’m marrying someone else,” he turns to look at Jade. “Doesn’t mean I’m not madly in love with the girl in front of us and wouldn’t die to keep her safe.” He turns and walks away, heading for the door so we can get the fuck out of here. Jade goes to run after him, but I grab her.?

“Let it go. Get your head in the game.” I whisper, wrapping my arms around her waist.

“He makes me irate, Spade. It’s like the roles have reversed with him and Jamie. Dario and I can’t talk. We either fuck or fight and I can’t take it anymore.” She lays her head back against my chest.?

“He will come back to us, give him time to kill her. It won’t be much longer,” I say, kissing the top of her head.?

“I hope—he’s the missing piece and I won’t be whole until he’s back.” She takes a deep?breath and I kiss her forehead again, walking us forward to the door Jay is holding open for us. We step outside and walk to the parking garage.

“I need to make a call to my dad and Flynn. We can’t do this alone.” Jade whispers.

“You seriously underestimate us, Babygirl.” I whisper, smacking her ass.?

“I’m still making the fucking call. I need us all safe. This will not be a suicide mission.” She says, taking her phone out and sending a text. She takes a deep breath as we get to the truck. Jay and Ri climb in, and I open the back door for her to get inside. I run my finger down the crack of her ass as she steps on the running boards. Her head whips around.

“Reid, this is not the fucking time.” She blushes.?

“Spade, get in and cut the shit! Get your head in the game before it gets blown the fuck off.” Jay growls. I shake my head and slide in next to my girl, placing my hand on her thigh.?

“I swear to god, if that hand goes any higher, I’m going to chop it off.” Jay says with narrowed eyes.?

“Jesus, I can’t help that going hunting makes me horny. Chill out, dicklicker.” I wink and he punches me in the leg.?

“Shut up before I fuck you into submission.” He smirks and I laugh.?

“I’d pay to see that,” Jade says, slapping a twenty on the center console. My eyes widen. I’m not sure how I feel about that. I guess if Jade is into it, I could give it a whirl.?

“Fuck, do you all see this?” Ri interrupts. Six white SUVs slowly pass us. I don’t know if I’m the only one holding my breath for impact, but Ri keeps us at a steady pace to not draw attention. Once they pass, I take a deep breath and squeeze Jade’s thigh. I glance behind us into the night and see a few have turned around.

“Fuck Ri, punch that shit! A few are circling back.” I yell.?

“Grab the duffel bag from the back. There are guns in there,” he says. Jade pulls the duffel over the seat and unzips it, handing out guns and extra ammo.?

Pop. Pop. Pop.?

We duck automatically, but right ourselves quickly. Jade rolls her window down and I grab her before she gets her head blown off. Jay is two steps ahead of her and is shooting from his window.?

“Fuck, this will not be enough to stop them, and they are gaining on us fast.” Jay yells into the car, half of his body hanging out the window.?

“Jamie, get back in the fucking car!” Jade screams at him.?
