“Yeah, but it’s different.”
“So they aren’t doing anything for you at all?” He ran the toe of his very unsexy shoe up the side of her calf, making her twist and squeal at the ticklish sensation.
“I didn’t say that,” she protested as she leaned in to kiss him again, this time pushing the boundaries just a little more.

Reed
Reed stared out his bedroom window, trying his best not to move and wake the sleeping beauty in his arms. It was December 31, and while most people were thinking of new beginnings, he was thinking of endings. This time tomorrow, she’d be gone, and he would have to start paying the price for their two-week romance. As he had predicted, it was gonna hurt like hell. It had already started.
Maya started to stir and yawned into his chest. She stretched her arms over her head and pointed and flexed her toes. “What time is it?”
He wrapped his arm around her back and glanced over her shoulder to get a look at his watch. “Eleven-forty.”
“Ugh, I don’t want to get up.” She nuzzled back into his chest.
“Who’s saying you have to?” He certainly wasn’t trying to kick her out of bed, not when they had started their morning off right with slow, lazy love-making followed by a nap and more fooling around.
“Good because I really don’t want to,” she admitted as she toyed with the thin trail of hair that ran down the center of his abdomen.
“I am getting hungry, though.”
“This is when you need delivery.” She shook her head against his chest. “If we were at my place, I’d have ordered in by now.”
He craned his neck to look down at this ridiculous city girl in his arms, thinking he just might have to kick her out of bed now for that nonsense. “You know I have a kitchen full of food, right?”
“Yeah,” she admitted begrudgingly. “But you have to get up and make it, so it defeats the purpose.”
“Don’t you have to get out of bed to answer the door when the delivery person comes, though?”
“Well, yeah, but it’s different.”
He took in a deep breath and sighed. It made no sense, but it was her, so… “I mean, I guess I can call Dev and have him bring some food over if you don’t mind him seeing us like this.” He lifted the sheet to expose their naked, entangled bodies, and she quickly pulled it back down.
“Oh my God, no. "
“Then I’ll go make us something real quick,” Reed decided. He started to shift out from beneath her.
“No,” she protested again.
“You’re not making any sense this morning, Hendricks.”
“Just ten more minutes,” she pleaded.
“I plan on coming right back,” he promised.
Although now that she was propped up on her elbow, bare chest touching his, he questioned just how hungry he was. His eyes trailed down to her chest and then back up to her beautiful face and the flirty smile on her lips. Suddenly, he wasn’t hungry at all anymore. Not for food, at least.
“Fine. Ten more minutes,” he agreed as he pulled her on top of him. When their time together could be counted in hours, every minute counted.

Maya
“It must feel good not to be behind the bar,” Sara said to Willa who was sitting on a stool on their side of the bar for a change.
“You have no idea,” she answered. “Not that I don’t love it, but it’s nice to have a break.”
