Hell, I’ve been fans of this awesome team, since I could remember.
Excitement thrums through me, as I stare around at the players.
This is like my dream come true.
Of course, not all the team are actually part of the Blade pack. These are the defensemen who aren’t.
Nobody pays me any attention.
When I’m jostled by Tate, the huge goalie with thick stubble and such a strong beer scent that my nose scrunches in disgust, I growl. “Hey, I’m small but I’m not an ant. Omega walking here.”
Tate growls back like he’s just been challenged by another Alpha.
I smirk in pride.
I can’t help the secret delight, every time someone forgets my dynamic.
“Silence, Omega,” Lopez hisses in outrage. “Eyes down. Did you learn nothing in the Institute?”
She slaps my ass, and I flush.
An Omega girl with a violet ribbon in her long, curly black hair, who looks about three years old but is being carried in her dad’s arms, startles.
She already looks overwhelmed and close to tears.
Despite the sting in my ass, I force myself to smile at her like it didn’t hurt, and we’re only playing a game.
Surprised, the girl smiles back at me and waves, then hides her face against her dad’s shirt.
I force myself to wave back, pulling a silly face.
The girl giggles.
Lopez sighs, shaking her head. “Beyond help.”
Tate chuckles. “Oh, it’s going to be fun having this new puck bunny around.”
I duck my head to hide the fury, which is flashing across my expression, and my hair covers my eyes.
Shit, I hope none of these Alphaholes are my pack.
Then I pale.
What if Tate is my Alpha?
I huddle closer to Lopez, relieved when she pulls me further down the corridor and away from the goalie, who’s leering at me.
I can feel his stare hot on my neck, and it makes me uncomfortable.
“Tell me that he’s not a member of my pack,” I beg. “How can anyone bond with me, when they haven’t even met me?”
“You really didn’t pay attention to the Institute’s courses, did you?” Lopez sighs, before pushing open a door and shoving me into the dark.
My heart speeds up.
What’s inside?
I fall to my knees, groaning as pain shoots up my left leg.
