I mean, if they wanted to share me, I wouldn’t say no. Please. It takes everything I have not to roll my eyes. They feel sorry for me and my dumpster fire of a life. They aren’t interested in me or raising someone else’s unwanted child.
“In the meantime, my girlfriends and I were tired of being in love with guys who didn’t notice us.” She laughs and takes another drink. “Or so we thought.”
“So, they weren’t as indifferent as you thought?” I ignore the twinge of jealousy that stabs me in the heart and finish the rest of my drink. I wish I was half as happy as she is. Beautiful home. Gorgeous husband. Sweet children. I wouldn’t trade Sunny for anything, but it’s hard being around someone who’s so content and comfortable in her skin.
“No, they weren’t. But back then, we thought they were, so we bought each other role-play kits and sent the boxes to each other. Mine was sent to the office.” Her eyes dance with merriment as she’s obviously replaying the day in her mind. “It was a discipline box, and Jace opened it by accident. Which was fortuitous. We had one hot afternoon in his office, but that was it. Eventually, my brothers read him the riot act, and he admitted he loved me. We got pregnant with Adalyn from that naughty misbehaving prisoner scene, and the rest is history.”
“Wow.” My heart thumps in my chest. “I’ve never met anyone who was that adventurous.” My face floods with heat as embarrassment makes me want to crawl into a hole. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean that to sound insulting. I’m intrigued, not offended. I’d love to…. Never mind. I’m so far away from finding someone who’d be interested in me and raising Sunny to even think about experimenting like that.” The visions running through my head of Axel and Oliver pleasing me in the office have my head spinning, though.
She tilts her head and studies me. “You deserve to be worshiped. Don’t ever settle for less than that again.”
“You’re right.” What would it be like to play around like that? To have a man command and discipline me in an exciting rather than abusive? I blink. “Is it empowering?”
“Absolutely.” The fireplace flickers as I watch the flames dance. “When you’re with someone who demands a safe word, who listens to every one of your boundaries and desires and follows them to precision, even asking repeatedly if everything is still pleasurable. It’s amazing and liberating. You’re on top of the world and feel powerfully feminine. Especially if it’s someone who you love and loves you.”
“That’s beautiful, but I wouldn’t have the slightest idea of where to find a man like that.” Who isn’t Axel and Oliver.
“Club N9ne is having a holiday party next week. You should come with Jace and me.”
“Club N9ne?”
She smirks and bites her bottom lip. “It’s a sex club and the perfect place to explore your inner vixen.”
My mouth drops open. “Holy shit.”
“Just think about it. I have a man in mind for your experimentation. I’ve known him for years, and he’s the perfect gentleman. He’ll 100% let you go at your own pace.” She stands and stretches as Donovan roots closer to her. “There are many women who go to sex clubs to reclaim their sexuality after abusive relationships. And I can guarantee that there are no abusive men there. The owners are meticulous and put up with no one who hurts another person with sadistic intent.”
“I don’t know.” My heart sputters as the room floats around me. I’d love to go if it was Axel and Oliver. Their tenderness when handling me has left me speechless. But she said someone, not multiple someones. So, that leaves them out. And she said someone she’s known for a long time. If she meant her brothers, surely, she would’ve said she’d known them her entire life.
I gnaw on my bottom lip. I’ve never enjoyed sex, so this would be the perfect opportunity to learn what I like and what I don’t. Mario couldn’t stand sex with me enough to force himself on me, so I’m not scared of intimacy. And this would be a stranger. A person I’d never have to see again.
“It’s a mascaraed party with a man who’s a pleasure dom. All orgasms. No pain.”
A shudder rips through me. How do I tell her I’ve never had an orgasm? I’m not even sure that they’re real. Or real for me anyway.
Anonymous sex? At a sex club? With someone who’ll do what I tell them to do and nothing more? Who’s experienced at pleasing women? That does sound glorious. Maybe it’s time to do something for myself. Sure, I would’ve considered a massage before ever thinking about a sex club, but what the hell.
“You’re on. It sounds like…” I wrinkle my nose. “A good time? Therapeutic? Amazing? I’m not sure what word to describe it, but I’m intrigued.”
“Perfect. I’ll have Jace work on getting you permission to attend and cover the entry fee.”
Chapter Eight
A Couple of Days Later
Oliver
As I drive behind a moving truck, Axel answers his phone and puts Sage on speaker. “What’s up, guys?”
“We’re taking a load of furniture to Rylee’s place for her and her daughter.” I flip on the blinker and follow the truck off the highway.
“You’re what?”
“We bought Rylee some furniture, so she’d feel more comfortable at her place, and the moving truck is bringing it now.”
“That’s the sweetest thing ever,” she gushes, and heat crawls up my face.
“You don’t think she’s going to freak out about this, do you?” Axel’s foot bounces up and down as his leg rests on his opposite knee. “We understand she values her independence, so we should have asked. But….” He pauses for effect. “She would’ve said no.”
