crew!” Marco says, as he slams his hand on the desk. I
immediately feel a pit in my stomach. We’ve been running
smoothly for the past few months and I was hoping the gun
distribution would bring in some much needed income. But
now it seems like it could all come crashing down. “Who
do they think did it?” I ask, trying to keep my voice calm.
“They don’t have a name yet, but they’re looking into it But we fucking know who it is. This could be bad news for
all of us, Vincent.” I nod, my mind racing with all the
possible scenarios. If the other gangs didn’t get their guns
then that means we have them and Joseph and Ian to worry
about.
It’s a dangerous game we’re playing, but I have always
been good at it. “We’ll figure something out. We always
do.” I try to reassure Marco. He just shakes his head.
“Yeah, we do, but this time, I have a feeling it’s not going
to be that simple.” I just nod, knowing that we have to
come up with a plan fast before things escalate even further.
But for now, I push all thoughts of the gangs and our
business to the back of my mind. I have a date
with Emma tonight and I want to make sure it’s
perfect.

Taking care of Emma has given me an excuse to spend
more time with her and I couldn’t be more grateful. She
