make fun of you,” Marco says,laughing.

“So you think you’re funny,” I chuckle.

I look over, noticing Emma getting tired. She tries to

hide her yawns as she looks at me and smiles.

“I think we better get going. My girl looks a little

tired,” I say softly. Emma stands and stretches. Ma comes

back into the living room, gives both of us a hug and gives

Emma a container of her peanut butter cookies.

“Don’t be a stranger,” Marco says to Emma

“I’ll try not to,thank you for having me” she says as we

walk out the door. “Wait! Emma, here’s my number. So you can text me

anytime! About anything,” Sarah says.

“Thank you so much! ” Emma says as she gives

Sarah a hug.

I wave to everyone as we walk out the door

I’ve never had a better night than I did tonight. I

wanted tonight to last forever but I know it can’t. As soon

as morning hits then it’s back to work. Back to the killing

and the tracking. So I can kill the monsters in Emma’s

nightmares. But for now I’m going to savor the moment.
