I rush inside the house because pops said that it was

urgent that I meet with him. Ma is in the kitchen making

peanut butter cookies. Her famous recipe as she calls it.

You can smell the peanut butter a mile away with how

much she uses. Pops and Marco are at the dining room

table waiting on me.

“I’m here! What’s going on?” I say as I walk through

the door taking off my coat.

“It’s Asher,”Pops sighs as I sit down at the table with

them.

I run my fingers through my hair, “What about him?”

Pops looks down at his hands and back up at me like he’s

terrified to even say anything “We think that Ian and Joseph found out that he was

there as a spy because we can’t get in contact with him.”

“When was he supposed to check back in with you?”

Marco stands up and walks around the table to grab

some more coffee. He looks like he hasn’t slept in days.

But if I said that he probably would beat my ass right now.

He’s Mr.Perfect. He always has to be well groomed and

always trying to look better than me.

“Three days ago,”Marco said. I’m not sure if he’s

angry, upset or just being an asshole. You can never tell

with him. “Last time I talked to him, he had some news

about Emma and that was about a week ago”
