I give him a soft smile and say, “Yeah. I’m fine. I’m just
enjoying this weather.” He gives a smile back but he still looks worried. Like
something is bothering him. But I’m too scared to even
ask.
“I have to meet with my Pops tonight to discuss
some business. I’ll be gone for a couple hours. Will you
be okay?”
Of course I won’t be okay! Please don’t go. I don’t want
to be alone! But I also don’t want him to think I need him.
If he thinks I need him, he might use it against me.
“Yes Vince. I’ll be fine.” I say with a smile.

“Are you sure? I can call and tell him we have to
reschedule.”
“I’ll be fine! I promise!” I say as I wave him off.
“Okay, baby girl. I’ll be back as soon as I can,” he says as
he kisses my forehead.
I watch him drive off and as soon as he leaves I feel so
scared and lost. He hasn’t left my side since I’ve been with
him. It’s just really quiet now. He’s gotten me to break
down every wall that I had up.
I keep waiting for his monster to come out. I keep
waiting for him to beat me. I keep waiting for him to come into the room at night and force himself upon me and to
take what he wants. But he never does.
