Emma wakes up as soon as we pull up to the cabin. I carry
her inside and run a warm shower for her and I make sure
to leave a towel and rag on the toilet for her with some girly
soap that I hope she will like. I’m not good at this stuff and
I have no idea what kind of stuff women like.
Emma has been in the shower for over an hour and I’m
starting to get worried about her. When I knock on the bathroom door she says that she is okay but I can tell she
isn’t. “What now?” I huff as my phone starts ringing. It’s
Pops….he never calls me while I’m at the cabin.
“Hey Pops,” I answer with a sigh.
“How’s the girl? I know this is probably a huge
adjustment for her.”
“She’s doing okay, I think,” I say, rubbing my
forehead.
“What’s wrong?” Pops asks.

“You have to give her time. She’s been through a lot. You
know it took Sarah months to even talk to Marco,” Pops
says, sympathetically.
“I know, Pops. I’m going to kill those bastards when I get
my hands on them!”
“Well, you may want to keep an eye on Ian and his crew.
My sources have said that he is looking for her. It seems
like we took his favorite girl,” Pops says and anger fills my
