understand why some people are that fucking sick,” he spits
out, his voice shaking with emotion. “How can you treat a
woman like that? I was just so fucking pissed!”

I can feel the anger in the room rising as Marco continues
to vent his rage. I knew how strongly my brother felt about
this. After all, he had seen firsthand what these traffickers
were capable of.
“All that money we loaned them for them to start a
business and that’s the kind of business they were running,”
Marco exclaims bitterly. “There has to be someone else
behind this! I know we didn’t get them all!”
I nod silently, understanding exactly what Marco was
getting at. We can’t let something like this go unpunished,
not when innocent lives were at stake. I know Ian is the
main guy. I’m going to take his ass down.

“The way she was bruised and how swollen she was. It
was uncalled for,” I say through gritted teeth, my hands
clenching into fists at my sides. “Her body laid there
lifeless on the concrete. They just left her there.”
I can’t shake off the guilt that consumed me. “If I would
have known she was still alive then I wouldn’t have left her
laying there. It’s all my fault,” I say to myself, lost in
thought.

“Hey Marco, do you think you can figure out who she
was? Pops only said that he saw on the news that they
