gone for 11 hours! I know it’s a long drive from the cabin

to Ma and Pops place but I didn’t think I was gone this long! I just want to kick myself in the ass for being gone

this long.

I stop at the store and grab Emma a new phone so she

can call me whenever she feels like. Like I told pops I have

no way to contact her and I want her to feel as safe and

normal as possible! Every girl likes flowers, right? Well

roses it is! And her favorite are those cheapass chocolate

covered cherries so I grab a box of those too.

As I start to drive again, I find myself constantly

glancing at the flowers and the phone. All I can think about

is seeing Emma. She’s become my entire world in such a

short time and it terrifies me. I’ve never opened up to

anyone like this and it’s scary to have someone hold so

much power over me. I arrive back at the cabin and quickly

make my way inside.

I see Emma sitting on the couch watching some show.

She looks up at me and I can see the look of relief on her

face. That look alone makes everything worth it.

I walk over to her and place a kiss on her forehead,

“Hey baby girl, I’m back”

“Hi”, she says shyly. She covers herself back up with the

blanket. I think she likes it because it smells like me. I hand

her the flowers and the box of chocolates. “I thought these might cheer you up a little bit”. She looks

at the flowers with a small smile on her face and then looks

at me with a questioning look, “Why do I need cheering

up? Did something happen today?”

I sit down next to her and let out a sigh, “Just some

business stuff with my family. But it’s okay, everything will
