“I think it’s a trap,” Caleb answered.
“All the more reason for you to not go with just the two of you,” I countered.
“We’ll all go,” Leona said. “The more of us, the better.”
“Auntie, you can’t fight,” Caleb said softly.
She glared at him. “I know you did not just tell me that I can’t fight. I am a siren, one of the most powerful sirens to be alive right now. Everyone, get in the cars.” She shook her head and mumbled, “Impertinent brat.”
Caleb growled, but with no time to waste, we got into two SUVs, one with Declan driving and one with Kylan driving, and headed into town.
Thankfully, we were close enough and the twins were crazy enough drivers that it didn’t take long to get to the park.
Once out of the vehicles, we spread out and headed into the park towards the sounds of yelling.
“I’m going to get an aerial view,” Triston said and shifted into his dragon form, flying up into the sky.
“Stay with me, Em,” Branson ordered me.
We spotted a huge group of people gathered and in the center was Ambrose fighting against half a dozen men.
Triston dropped down out of the sky and punched one of the attackers, knocking him away from Ambrose.
Caleb shifted into his warrior form, a combination of all of the forms, and ran into the fray. Riddick right beside him.
“Stay with Leona,” Branson ordered me, shifted into his warrior form, and roared, scaring people out of the way so he could charge in as well.
Leona and Silverowl stood beside me with Thor behind us.
Declan and Kylan joined the fight and soon it was over.
“Something seems off,” I whispered and looked around the crowd that had been watching.
“I can sense malice,” Leona whispered. “From multiple people in the crowd. Like a lot of them.”
The gathered group suddenly surged forward, closing around the guys and fighting them. The people directly in front of us turned around, shifted into wolf and dragon warrior forms.
Silverowl pulled roots from the ground and began binding people in them, holding them on the ground.
Thor jumped in front of Leona, attacking those nearest.
Leona sighed and shook her head. “Plug your ears, Ember.”
Shoving my fingers in my ears, I watched her mouth open.
As soon as she started singing, everyone stumbled, and then fell to the ground.
Removing my fingers from my ears, I copied Silverowl and bound the now sleeping enemies in roots.
Walking over the sleeping people, I made my way to the center where only Caleb was standing. “Are you okay?” I asked, seeing blood on his arms and face.
He nodded, panting. “I told you it was a trap.”
We quickly woke our people.
“Everyone okay?” Dan asked as he and several werewolves ran into the park.
“Papa, what are you doing here?” Caleb asked.
