Thor scowled. “Yes, I do. It’s helped a lot, actually. You definitely need some therapy.”
Caleb frowned, but didn’t say anything back.
“We would love your recommendation,” I said.
Triston returned with our drinks and I took a sip, mouth puckering a bit at the severe lack of orange juice.
“A tad more orange juice next time,” Leona instructed him.
He nodded, left, grabbed more orange juice to add to our drinks, put the juice away, and sat down. “Understood.”
“I do love a trainable man,” she crooned.
Thor shook his head.
“So, can we see your animal form now?” Kylan asked with a wide smile.
With a sigh, I nodded. “Okay. Fine.”
“Yes!” Caleb shouted and stood.
Chapter
Nine
“Just … here?” I asked, looking around the living room.
“You are very small,” Silverowl reminded me. “Not like if Kylan or Declan needed to shift.”
“We can go somewhere else if you’d prefer,” Kylan offered.
“No, it’s fine,” I conceded, took another drink of my mimosa, and set the glass down.
“Remember, just envision your form and let the change happen naturally,” Silverowl said softly.
I nodded, walked over by the television where I had a bit more room, and closed my eyes. Picturing the adorable little bunny that I turned into, I felt the change immediately. This time was much easier than the first time.
“Oh, my god you are the most adorable thing I have ever seen in my entire life,” Leona screeched.
Opening my eyes, I found the coffee table and everyone so much taller than when I’d been human. It was a little terrifying, but I took a slow, deep breath and reminded myself they were all friends.
Hopping forward, I went to Leona who bent and picked me up, setting me in her lap.
“Your fur is so soft! Oh, Rubyhare, you are absolutely perfect. How could you be embarrassed about this form?”
“You’re perfectly snack sized,” Caleb said with a wicked smile.
I spun and glared at him.
“Oh, that glare is even more adorable,” Riddick said with a stupid smile.
“Ignore them,” Silverowl ordered me.
I hopped in a circle to face him.
“Your shift was good this time, much better than your first, but it still took too long. You need to be able to do it instantaneously in case of emergency,” he said.
“This size, she could be in a battle and sneak away between everyone’s legs without them even realizing,” Thor commented. “It would give you the perfect chance to get behind them and attack from there in your hybrid form.”
