“He won’tevergo there with you, Shelbs. You know what he’s like. Plus, he’s mydad.”
Shelby rolls her eyes at me.
“So? I honestly don’t care, Ivy. I’ve loved himforever.”
I hide a smile as I tug open the back door, the morning sun already beating down with a vengeance.
I love our yard, especially the little bar Dad set up a few years back.
I can’t spend the day getting drunk, though.
Then again, why can’t I?
Shelby peels open a lid from the box she’s holding, and the sweet scent of chocolate fills my nostrils.
“Have you been baking again?” I drool over the chocolate cake, digging in for a slice before it melts. The thick ganache coats my tongue, and I moan with delight.
“I keep waking up stupidly early — I think it’s the shitty blinds in my room.” Shelby pauses, licking her finger. “I’m going to put some in the fridge for Kevin.”
It’s so weird hearing her call him by his first name, but I wave her off before settling into the sunchair. I drag my straps down, allowing the sun to kiss my shoulders. They’re already tanned, but I love the way the sun feels on my skin. I polish off the cake, licking my fingers clean as a memory hits me.
Griffin licking his fingers after fucking me with them.
My cheeks flame, and it’s nothing to do with the heat from the sun.
“Lotion!” Shelby calls out, handing me a bottle of sun lotion. I coat my body in it before relaxing back into the chair, sighing happily.
“Finlay’s back.”
My eyes flutter open as Shelby makes a face at me.
“I saw him last night. He asked about you.”
Shelby works at a bar in town, one we avoid like the plague, as Shelby doesn’t like to mix business with pleasure.
“Hmm?”
“He looked good,” Shelby says, shading the sun from her eyes with her hand. “Maybe he’s the one for you.”
“I don’t think so; he’s acriminal.”I shake my head as she shrugs.
“Well, it’s not like you’ve got anyone else on the go.”
“Yes, but—”
“I gave him your number. Just have some fun, Ivy.” Shelby rests her head back on the chair, sighing heavily.
“Fun with Finlay?” I snort, shaking my head. “Why’d you give him my damn number?”
Shelby rolls her head to look at me, her eyes wide.
“Because you are gasping for a good fuck, and we both know from his reputation that he’s got that going for him.”
I groan.
“I don’t think I want Finlay as a fuck buddy.”
But she’s right.
