Page 116 of Healing Her Lions

“This is the merging of our bodies.”

“It sounds painful,” I say dryly.

“Anything that is life-changing usually is,” she says tilting her head.

“Very true,” I mumble.

“Are you ready to become a lion?”

“Is it possible to be truly ready?” I ask.

“Very true.” She giggles.

“How do we do this?”

“You have to accept that we are one.” She pads closer. “And that you are worthy of such a gift.”

“Worthy?” I ask weakly.

“Do you not want your mates?”

“Of course I want them,” I growl. “They are mine; no one can take them from me.”

She sits and nods. “Good. They love you.”

“I love them.”

“Do you believe you deserve them? Their love?”

“What kind of question is that?” I frown.

“Can you heal them?”

“Heal them,” I sputter angrily. “They don’t need to be healed. They need to be loved. Logan is so strong, more than he realizes. He’s been through so much trauma but he got through it and is moving past the things they did to him. He is kind and gentle but strong when he needs to be. I feel powerful when I’m with him, but at the same time protected.

“Lucas thinks he doesn’t live up to what he should be, but he is a fighter. He fights for his brothers and his family. He wants to be loved and gives so much love in return. I never have to worry about him looking at another woman—all he sees is me. He is all-consuming.

“Las is quiet but his mind is always working. He takes care of everyone and forgets about his needs. He’s selfless and resilient. He gives me things I didn’t know I needed, and I do the same for him. He loves deeply and forever.

“They will always protect me and the bond we formed. They don’t need to be healed,” I end with a shout.

I am breathing hard and glaring at the lion. Her eyes sparkle and my glare intensifies.

“Right answer.”

“This was a test?” I snarl.

Can a lion shrug? “I was worried you would think you didn’t deserve them because of your family.”

I snarl. “That’s the reason we do deserve each other.”

“I’m glad.”

“What’s your name?”

She rolls her eyes. “We are one.”

“I can’t call you Breeane.”
